Quarterback Alex Smith says his life was completely changed by his experience in rehab with servicemen and women who lost limbs overseas.
Smith says he was bitter about life after suffering a grotesque leg injury.
It wasn't until he rehabbed with military amputees that his mindset completely changed.

Erika Kirk cannot keep her own story about China straight — and the one city she named out loud is the one city in China at the center of a child trafficking epidemic.
Start with the tape. In her 2014 Amazing Race self-submission video, a 25-year-old Erika Frantzve says it plainly, on camera, in her own words: "I've lived in China… Chongqing." Charlie Kirk, on the record, told people she lived in China for six months. But the version she tells now is a two-week tourist trip to Beijing. Chongqing is not Beijing. Six months is not two weeks. A tourist is not a resident. Three stories, one woman, and not a single document.
And here is the detail that should make you sit up. Erika says she was in China "working with victims of sex trafficking." Chongqing sits on one of the heaviest trafficking corridors in the country. Yet the US consulate that covered that city — the Chengdu consulate general — was shut down in July 2020 and never reopened, not even as the rest of China reopened. The diplomatic window pointed straight at Chongqing was quietly bricked over.
Now drive through Chongqing today. There is a red bus covered in the faces of thirty-two missing children, their photographs and their families' phone numbers plastered down the side to raise public awareness. It was commissioned by 宝贝回家 — "Baby Come Home," founded in 2007 in Tonghua, Jilin, by Zhang Baoyan and her husband Qin Yanyou, after Zhang's own child briefly went missing. She quit her banking job to run it full-time; he was a computer teacher at Tonghua Normal University who built the tech. The volunteer association was formally registered in 2008. Everything is free. The state does not do this work — a couple with a laptop does.
Because here is the shape of it, and you have seen this shape before. In Romania it was Romanian Angels and the Constanța orphanages: the charity runs, the charity gets shut down, the allegations land years later — and then the locals start putting missing kids' faces on buses. Romani angels in Bucharest, a red bus in Chongqing. Same tree. Same behavior. It always repeats itself. Erika Kirk always seems to find herself i the center of every major sex trafficking scandal and you have to ask yourself, is it all really just a coincidence?
Erika says she was a tourist for two weeks in Beijing. So where was Erika when she was actually living in China?

In 2002, the state of Washington told Lydia Fairchild she was not the mother of the children she had carried and raised.
She was 26, pregnant with her third, and had recently separated from their father, Jamie Townsend. When she applied for public assistance, DNA testing was routine. The results confirmed Townsend as the father. They found no genetic connection between Fairchild and any of the children. The lab repeated the test. The outcome did not change.
Prosecutors began discussing welfare fraud. They raised the possibility that she had been a surrogate who kept the babies or had obtained the children by other means. They mentioned a polygraph.
She said she would take one. Instead the state issued a court summons and moved toward removing the children from her care.
When she went into labor with the third child, a court officer stood in the delivery room to witness the birth and supervise the blood draw.
The sample was taken from the newborn minutes after delivery, in the presence of a witness, so the chain of custody would be beyond dispute. Two weeks later the result came back: no match.
Her attorney, Alan Tindell, had read a case published that May in the New England Journal of Medicine. A 52-year-old Boston woman named Karen Keegan had needed a kidney transplant.
Two of her three sons did not match her DNA when tested as potential donors. Researchers later found a second genetic profile in her thyroid tissue. Tindell brought the paper into court and argued that his client might be the same rare biological phenomenon.
Investigators tested Fairchild’s parents, then sampled her skin and hair. Finally they tested a cervical smear. Those cells matched the children.
Fairchild is a chimera. Early in her mother’s pregnancy, two fertilized eggs that would have become fraternal twins fused into a single embryo.
She developed as one person carrying two distinct sets of DNA. Most of her body operates on one lineage. Her reproductive tissue operates on the other—the lineage she passed to her children.
The charges were dropped. She kept her children.
The case remains one of the clearest documented examples of tetragametic chimerism, a condition that can make a mother appear genetically unrelated to the children she gave birth to, until the right tissue is tested. 🌹

BREAKING: Claude Code found 14,219 photos of my face on my Android that I never took. Phone was secretly taking them almost every time I picked it up. Even when I was just lying in bed. Even at home.
Not screenshots. Real frames from the front camera. On the train. In the car. At home. When I just grabbed it to check the time.
They were just sitting in a system cache. Timestamps and GPS on them. Nothing in Gallery. Nothing in Recently Deleted.
Plugged the phone into my laptop, made a full backup, told Claude Code to look for any front-camera files that weren’t in my photos. It pulled /data/system/users/0/faceunlock/cache and another folder inside Google Play Services. Over 14 thousand files. Normal ones and infrared from Face Unlock. Every single one had time and location.
Started scrolling. Almost everything from the last 15 months. Then I saw a file created 2 seconds ago. I was still looking at the folder. Phone kept taking photos while I was reading this.
Google and the phone makers say Face Unlock turns everything into a mathematical model and deletes the image right away. On this phone the raw frames were just sitting there. Some of the processes writing to that folder were from system diagnostics. Couple of old apps that still had camera permission could also get in.
Turned off diagnostics, revoked camera access from everything that doesn’t need it, cleared the cache. But how many of these frames already went somewhere else, I don’t know.
If you want to check yours, plug it in, make a full backup or use ADB, and ask Claude to look for front-camera files outside your Gallery. Path above is where mine were.
Claude Code found 145,763 photos I permanently deleted from my iPhone.
Three years of deleted photos and videos still sitting in a hidden cache. Any app with file access can read them.
I plugged my iPhone into my MacBook to run a backup. Claude Code was doing the security audit from my last post and flagged a directory I wasn't even looking for.
PhotoData/Thumbnails. Over 146,000 files. Photos, videos, screenshots. Every single one was something I deleted.
Photos from 2023, 2024 and 2025. The ones I deleted the second after taking them. The ones I cleared from Recently Deleted. The ones I deleted three separate times because I wanted to be sure they were gone. All still there.
Passport photo I took for a visa application in 2023.
Screenshots of my bank app with full account numbers visible.
Private photos I sent someone and immediately deleted after a breakup.
Screenshot of my crypto seed phrase I took temporarily in 2022.
Photo of my ID and credit card I took to remember the numbers and deleted 5 seconds later.
Screenshots of my ex's private Instagram stories I saved and permanently deleted in 2023.
Some were full resolution. All organized by date going back to 2021.
When you delete a photo on iPhone, iOS removes it from your camera roll and Recently Deleted. It keeps a compressed copy in a Spotlight search index cache so your phone can find things when you search. Apple never clears it. Not after 30 days. Not after a year. Never.
They told you it was permanently deleted. It wasn't.
I checked which apps on my phone had Files and Folders access. 23 apps. Weather apps. QR code scanners. PDF readers. A flashlight app I downloaded in 2022. Any one of them could have been reading every photo I ever deleted this entire time.
Went from 23 apps to 3 in about two minutes.

I would like to make a prediction.
There have been many people wondering why the military in Brazil has been silent, even though there is so much evidence that the election was stolen by Lula.
I think there’s a reason.

Right after the midterms and the democrats get crushed, Trump is going to focus the world on the “stolen election” in Brazil.
Trump is going to reveal all the “evidence” in that “red folder” dossier on Lula and details of the “stolen election.”
That will be the “trigger” for the military in Brazil to remove Lula and his cronies in the courts.
Trump doesn’t actually need to “Maduro” Lula out of Brazil.
I think Trump and the Shield of the Americas are going to help the military and the people in Brazil, to take back their country “on their own.”
Brazil will be cleansed, but it will be cleansed by the people in Brazil with the help of their military.

Há alguma coisa estranha acontecendo depois das eleições brasileiras, e não estou falando apenas do resultado.
Lula, o PT e todo o sistema político que trabalhou ao lado deles supostamente venceram a disputa mais importante dos últimos anos.
Então me explica uma coisa: ONDE ESTÁ A COMEMORAÇÃO?
Olhe para o ambiente que se formou depois da divulgação do resultado. Não existe aquela euforia natural de quem acabou de derrotar seu maior adversário político e conquistou mais quatro anos de poder.
O semblante de Lula, as reações de seus aliados e até o comportamento de parte dos seus eleitores transmitem muito mais preocupação do que alívio.
Evidentemente, ninguém descobre o que uma pessoa está pensando apenas olhando para seu rosto, mas um jornalista também não pode ignorar uma contradição quando ela começa a encontrar outros fatos igualmente estranhos.
E foi exatamente isso que aconteceu.
Enquanto Lula e seus aliados administravam as consequências da eleição, Flávio Bolsonaro e sua família deixaram o Brasil numa operação que colocou os Estados Unidos no centro dessa história.
A importância desse episódio não está apenas na saída física de Flávio do país, mas no que ela revela: a disputa deixou de acontecer exclusivamente dentro das instituições brasileiras e passou a envolver diretamente um governo estrangeiro com poder econômico, diplomático e estratégico infinitamente superior ao de qualquer personagem interno.

Durante anos, Lula, Alexandre de Moraes e outros ministros do STF enfrentaram o bolsonarismo dentro de um terreno que eles conheciam e controlavam: Justiça, Polícia Federal, TSE, inquéritos e decisões tomadas dentro da jurisdição brasileira. Se essa informação estiver correta, existe uma diferença gigantesca entre um presidente americano simplesmente declarar que desconfia de uma eleição e o governo dos Estados Unidos possuir material reunido sobre aquilo que aconteceu, quem tomou determinadas decisões e se houve alguma irregularidade capaz de comprometer o processo.
Agora volte ao início.
Lula vence, mas não parece comemorar.
Flávio deixa rapidamente o Brasil com participação americana.
Trump começa a questionar publicamente a eleição.
E surge a informação de que Washington teria em mãos um dossiê sobre o processo eleitoral e sobre personagens diretamente envolvidos nele.
O QUE LULA SABE QUE A MAIORIA DOS SEUS ELEITORES AINDA NÃO SABE?
Porque talvez o problema para Lula e seus aliados não esteja simplesmente no resultado das urnas. Talvez esteja naquilo que pode acontecer quando Donald Trump decidir revelar o que possui — e transformar uma disputa política brasileira numa crise internacional que Brasília já não consegue controlar.
Se for esse o caso, o resultado anunciado pelo TSE pode ter encerrado apenas uma parte da eleição.
