“Live Free or Die” — Start your Journey with the Free State Project
The fight for liberty began right here in New Hampshire and it’s alive and thriving today. We are Free Staters — thousands of liberty lovers who’ve made the move to the Granite State to live free and build a society rooted in voluntary cooperation, innovation, and self-reliance. From politics to entrepreneurship, from homeschooling to homesteading, we’re creating real freedom in our lifetime. The torch of liberty still burns here — and we’re keeping it lit for those ready to take a stand. If you believe in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, it’s time to come home. Join us in the Free State and help build the future of freedom.

Blocked, so I can’t reply to Matt directly, but the problem here is twofold. First, they use recent state housing legislation to measure freedom. But states with the biggest problems have done the most to pass laws. Second, they use minimum lot sizes without adjusting for existing density - of course minimum lot sizes are smaller where pre-zoning density is higher. On this, they don’t say what they do for states where the National Zoning Atlas does not have data. 🤷♂️
Due to overwhelming suspicion, we’re releasing the next five points of the Free State Agenda.

Liberty gets people to New Hampshire. Community is what makes them stay.
This is the part people can’t understand until they experience it.
