Even though I am an evangelical Christian, I have always defended the Catholic and Maronite statues in Lebanon and opposed evangelicals who wanted them removed.
My reason was not theological. It was civilizational.
In Lebanon, when you entered a town or village and saw a statue of Jesus, Mary, or a saint standing publicly, it meant that this place had not yet been Islamized.
It meant Christians still possessed enough freedom and confidence to display their faith publicly.
The statue was therefore more than a statue. It was a civilizational marker. It announced that Islam was not sovereign over that space.
When evangelicals attacked those statues purely on theological grounds, they failed to understand what they were helping to dismantle.
In their zeal to remove what they considered an unbiblical symbol, they were also weakening a visible symbol of the very freedom that allowed evangelicals themselves to exist, preach, convert, and criticize.
I see Christians in the West making a similar mistake today with the Jews.
They attack Jews or Israel for theological reasons while failing to understand the civilizational struggle taking place around them.
Israel is under attack by forces that do not merely see it as another country. They see Israel as an outpost and symbol of the Western order they despise.
When Christians turn against Jews simply because Judaism rejects Christ, they may believe they are defending theological truth while, in reality, helping the forces that are hostile to Christianity as well.
Lebanese Christians needed those Catholic statues even when evangelicals believed the statues were unbiblical.
And the West needs the unbelieving Jew for the same civilizational reason.
You do not have to agree with someone theologically to understand that his freedom, his survival, and his continued presence is bound up with your own.

🚨 Europe is burning. Australia could be next. 🔥
Leftists and Islamists have teamed up to hate our Western culture — and if we don’t love it, they win.
We’ve already had the warning signs here. Family First is putting fighters into Parliament who will defend our civilisation and stop the self-loathing.
Time to choose. 💪🇦🇺
MEDIA RELEASE
If we don’t love our culture, those who hate it will prevail
The riots across France and Europe highlight the need to vote for candidates who will fight for our Western Civilisation against an alliance of leftists and Islamists who hate our culture.
Family First National Director Lyle Shelton said there are no guarantees Australia won’t also burn.
“We’ve seen a foretaste with leftists and Islamists combining over the past three years to reward Islamic terrorism while demonising the Middle East’s only democracy.
“If we don’t stand up for our civilisation and Judeo-Christian culture we risk a further breakdown in social cohesion.
“We need champions for the western culture and institutions that made Australia such an attractive country that people from all over the world have flocked here to make it home.
“Family First is working hard to put courageous men and women into Parliaments around our nation who will push back on the self-loathing of our nation that has come to dominate our political discourse,” Mr Shelton said.

There is a very well trodden path between mental illness, recruitment to the Marxist/Palestinian cause and acts of political violence.
And I'm tired of decent people who've never marched in the streets calling for death, being impacted by cowardly politicians who want to 'all sides' a problem while ignoring the elephant in the room.
Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn't listen.
I pray that France, a beautiful country of amazing people, will stop this madness before more of its landmarks burn.
And I hope Americans are paying attention. This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country.

In my career from the @WhiteHouse and U.S. Senate to @IRIglobal, @Heritage, and the U.S. Tea Party, I have never met anyone who was "pro-war."
Maybe it exists among defense contractors.
But especially on Iran policy, it is being misused as a pejorative in our political lexicon.

BREAKING: 153 Nations Adopt UN Pandemic Declaration to Push FAST-TRACKED Vaccines Within 100 Days and Crack Down on “Vaccine Hesitancy”
UN declaration raises concerns that scientific censorship, lockdowns, and experimental vaccine mandates would be put into place quickly with the next outbreak. Agency confirms the goal of man-made pandemics is global mass vaccination. Strategy doomed to fail as pathogens quickly become resistant to vaccines which should never be the primary pandemic response measure. By Nic Hulscher, MPH, @UN @NicHulscher @McCulloughFund

Christians are fighting back and the anti-Christian bigots in Labor are on the back foot. @AlboMP knows he can't afford to lose anymore of his voter base. Passing Allegra Spender's Christian Persecution Bill would almost certainly annihilate Labor in Western Sydney and the Bible-belt in the Hills. It'll hurt @ChrisMinnsMP in the 2027 election too. For 30 years, I’ve fought for everyday Australians who work hard, pay their taxes and just want a fair go.
Australia should be a country where young people can afford a home, families can pay their bills, businesses can thrive, and communities feel safe.
I’m standing up against mass migration, net zero, soaring power prices and a political class that has stopped listening.
I’ll keep fighting to restore free speech, affordable energy, national self-sufficiency and government accountability.
Our country’s best days are ahead of us, but only if we unite to fight for what’s right.
Thank you CPAC!

Today marks three years since the Hamas Islamic terrorist attacks of 7 October 2023 targeting Jewish people.
We remember the innocent civilians who were murdered, the families torn apart, and those who endured the horror of being taken hostage by a fanatical terrorist movement. Around 1,200 people were killed and 251 people abducted in an attack that shocked the world.
October 7 was a brutal reminder of the threat posed by radical Islamist terrorism. The murder of civilians, the kidnapping of families, and the deliberate targeting of innocent people were acts of barbarity that have no place in any civilised society.
Today we honour the victims and stand with those still grieving.
We must always call out the threat of radical Islamic terror and stand united against it.

Holding a pro-Hamas vigil on October 7 is perverse. There would have been no loss of civilian life in Gaza if Gazans had not slaughtered, raped and kidnapped on October 7 and then used their own innocent people as human shields in Israel's necessary war to eradicate the Islamic terrorists who committed the atrocities in the first place. It's time to stand up to the lies, not cynically use the anniversary of the greatest loss of Jewish life since the Holocaust to perpetuate them.

At the UN, Anthony Albanese linked social media algorithms, misinformation, political extremism and his social media crackdown to the rise of parties like One Nation.
He claimed: "I didn't link the two."
What a joke. The transcript exists. The video exists.
Australians can see exactly what he said. The problem isn't misinformation.
The problem is he got caught saying the censorship plans out loud.

James and Joanna Howe Are 100% Right About Consent
The motte and bailey is one of the oldest tricks in public debate.
Here's one way it's used:
You take someone's quote and attach an explosive interpretation to it. When the interpretation is challenged, you fall back on the quote. "He said it, didn't he?"
The treatment of James and @ProfJoannaHowe is a textbook case.
On The Dr Jo Show this month, the couple criticised the establishment's push for explicit consent scripts in Australian classrooms.
They remarked that they "don't do consent" — they do marriage.
Their point, made very clear in the conversation and spelled out many times since, is that consent is an inadequate foundation for sexual ethics. Agreement alone does not make sex good. Marriage, as a covenant of self-giving love, is the only good and safe place for sex.
You may think their view is right or wrong (I happen to agree with it). But their claim was about moral foundations, not forcing yourself on your spouse.
The bailey came quickly. Activist journalists and leftist politicians claimed that James Howe believes wives need not consent in marriage. Some went further and claimed he was a rapist.
They were clearly lying. But when challenged, they quickly retreated to the motte. "He said he doesn't do consent. Those were his words."
Those were his words but they've inserted their own meaning into them. And that's the trick — the motte and the bailey.
When the Howes rejected "consent", they meant a philosophy of sexual ethics. When critics reported that rejection, they swapped in a different meaning: a wife's willingness.
The "consent" the Howes reject is a bankrupt sexual ethic. The "consent" their critics claim they reject is a wife's agreement.
The smear only works if readers fail to notice the motte-and-bailey switch.
Reasonable people can disagree with the Howes about consent education (I happen to agree very strongly with them on it). What they cannot do is turn the Howes' critique of an ideology into the confession of a crime by secretly changing the meaning of a word.
Changing the meaning of words is a classic leftist ploy. But the courts won't fall for it when the Howes sue. And you shouldn't fall for it either. Walk in the light instead.

Australians are walking away from mainstream media in growing numbers and now Labor is directing $153.5 million of taxpayers’ money into Australia’s media industry including major commercial media organisations.
Some outlets are receiving $39,000 for every eligible journalist they employ!
