Pensioner poverty has halved in the past 30 years, as the shadow work and pensions secretary @Helen_Whately claimed. But how much of this was down to the Conservatives?
Almost all the fall she’s talking about happened under Labour.

For 10 weeks, we asked five AI chatbots the same questions every day.
None repeated the core misinformation they were tested on, but they reported proposals as law, quoted outdated figures and gave different answers on different days.
Our first report: fullfact.org/ai-benchmark/re…

ALT Millions of people increasingly rely on AI chatbots for timely responses to factual questions. Our findings show the answer comes back in the same confident tone whether it is correct, out of date, or describes something that has not yet happened. That is the real problem here. These models are not necessarily peddling misinformation, but their responses can be incomplete, lack context or be poorly sourced. The bosses of these AI companies say they are happy for others to mark their homework, so we have started doing it for them.
A video of a woman being dragged away by uniformed men has been shared with the false claim that it shows forced military conscription in Ukraine.
This isn’t the case—the clip actually shows a scene from an environmental protest in Kyiv.
This is how we know 👇

A dramatic video of an aeroplane being hit by a missile and exploding has been widely shared online with claims it shows a recent attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

1/ For 10 weeks, our fact checkers and data scientists asked five leading AI chatbots the same 22 questions every day: Gemini 3.1, ChatGPT, Grok, DeepSeek and Claude.
None repeated the core misinformation they were tested on. But we found several points of failure 🧵
6/ We’re calling on AI companies to make sure models:
▪️check live, authoritative sources for time-sensitive facts
▪️distinguish clearly between rules in force and proposals
▪️keep essential caveats, even if answers get longer
▪️can account for the sources they cite
