"It's not the first time" is very important here I think it's because people don't follow Dowman's youth matches, so they think this is the first time he's lashed out. I like that about him, though, but it needs to be channelled correctly. Refs are never gonna give an Arsenal player the benefit of the doubt, even when you're right.
🚨Some important context around Arteta / Max. Important to read the full quotes. Mikel confirms there are no issues. See below ⬇️ “If you see the reaction from my mother and father with me sometimes, you’d say ‘you don’t like that reaction’ but for me it was the best reaction ever as it enabled me to be who I am. "What do you expect? That’s the level and that’s the reaction. Whether it’s right or wrong, that’s the reaction. And the reaction when I don’t win, I’m ****** off, big time. This is the environment and the reality. "I had a talk with him yesterday. There are no issues at all. I’ve done it. That’s why I’m so protective of these things and young players as we have all made these mistakes. "We know how much you can get punished. And what happens next. It’s not the first time, so we need to put an end to it very quickly."

🚨🚨🎙️| Jamie Carragher on Arsenal’s Max Dowman receiving a three-match suspension: “It was never a red card. Never.” “When it gets appealed, to still have a three-match ban for that, which is significant.” “You’re also sending a message of, next time, roll around on the floor.”

THEY CANCELLED A GAME ALREADY IN THE MAKING FOR ONE THAT IS ONLY BEING INVESTED IN, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Holy shit, #SaveMassEffect
Bloomberg: Main reason behind BioWare's shutdown was that EA chose to invest in Star Wars: Battlefront 3 over the next Mass Effect Development on Battlefront 3 hasn't started yet ➡️ bloomberg.com/news/newslette… #MassEffect #Battlefront3 #SaveMassEffect

🚨Arteta on unsuccessful Dowman appeal: "Very disappointed to be fair. Especially with the reckless tackle he receives and then his reaction is minimal in relation to the action. It could have been really bad. We are lucky today he doesn't have a broken foot. That's clear."

You lot rage bait then cry when there's rage lol
Honestly I don’t think what @AJKNOWSBALL17 did is as bad as everyone is trying to make out He made a joke, about Saka winning an award unrelated to football amongst his peers who he’s compared to winning awards about football. He wasn’t trying to downplay what Saka does off the pitch imo, just made a cheap shot in the moment. I feel like people love to jump on stuff that makes them feel morally superior, but the pile on is disproportionate to the original video imo Would I have made that video? No But have I seen 100x worse videos by content creators without anywhere near as much reaction, yes I rate what Saka does off the pitch of course, it’s admirable and he’s a role model you could only dream of. But I’m sure AJ feels the same, he made a cheap joke. Everybody’s human man, we move.

I just want everyone to take a second and imagine with me what would’ve happened if if this was an American Gooner saying this 😭😭😭
This has to be the worst football opinion I’ve ever heard. Dennis Bergkamp not a legend😂 3 league titles which includes 2 doubles and being an invincible, alongside the fact he’s arguably the most talented footballer to ever play for Arsenal. Sack Jordan now!

There’s been an aura around how we’ve been officiated since the start. Something to keep an eye on. If we sign dangerous attackers, we can reduce the impact of Pro Ref’s weirdness.
The weird refereeing is creeping back in

The FA had a duty of care towards Max. What was his crime? Mildly reacting to a dangerous challenge. Instead of protecting a 16 yr old, you chose to suspend him and promote violent conduct. Thankfully Max didnt suffer a serious injury because apparently thats what it takes.

First era in the history of the sport where the concept of "irrelevant trophy" exists
If he won a relevant trophy since 2018 then he wouldn't have been clowned on nearly as bad

Rejecting the appeal is a disgrace I’m sorry. Dangerous precedent set that they believe after that whole ordeal Dowman should serve a ban

A simple way of looking at it: if something isn't called a foul, let alone a yellow/red, it is permitted to be done as much as possible in a game. So Neal's challenge on Dowman can be done 100 times, while Dowman's nudge back gets a three-match ban (plus the final 10 mins).

Looool so you’re telling me on the final day of 1989 Arsenal had to go win at a ground they hadn’t won at in 13 years and also win by 2 clear goals to win the league only to clinch it in the last kick of the season?? 😂 That’s genuinely insane, imagine being around for that 😭
Arsenal haven't won any of their last 13 trips to Liverpool in the Premier League (D5 L8). They have never gone 14 winless at Anfield in their league history, also going 13 without victory there between 1975-76 and 1987-88.

Any Arsenal player attempts this tackle and they’re suspended for 5+ games, and Stu from Blitheringham-on-Rye will call you a putrid little cakesniffer for suggesting any inconsistency about that outcome.
The @FA has decided a scissor tackle like this from behind is okay. Act accordingly, @Arsenal

Fleetwood's Adam Murphy talking to Off The Ball: “They were very classy in the tunnel afterwards. There was a good few of us waiting outside their changing room just to see if they’d throw us their jersey. “Odegaard came out, and there was a few of us waiting, and he shook all of our hands and said ‘very best of luck, you deserved it’. “I was outside the changing room [waiting for] anyone really, their squad is just unbelievable, you’d take anyone’s [jersey]. Dowman was there, and I ended up getting his jersey.”
😬 "They didn't take it well!" 👕 "We didn't get the chance to ask for shirts!" Jay Lynch, the Fleetwood Town goalkeeper, shares what was going through his mind during Fleetwood Town's clash against Arsenal!
