LINE FIRE UPDATE FROM FIRE CHIEF JEFF WILLIS, BIG BEAR FIRE DEPARTMENT (9/07/24 @ 8:30 p.m.) :
As the Big Bear community is well aware, the Line Fire began in the evening of September 5th in the City of Highland, just East of the bottom of SR330. Big Bear is in good standing at this time and the department is supporting the areas currently effected by the wildfire. Big Bear Fire has been assigned to contribute with equipment and personnel in the Running Springs area.

An announcement tomorrow morning will occur at 11 AM on the times for escorts later on that day, and if we are able to provide the escorts. If traffic becomes inundated, we will stop the escorts from occurring.
