PrizePicks Packs and Underdog Rips are scarily close to just slot machine gambling...
But I am curious... if you could open these virtual packs backed by real cards and then have them stored somewhere...
1) Would that place be a "bank"
2) Could you trade the card's value on a prediction market or could this be considered a collectible perpetuals market on Kalshi
3) Would there be legitimate +EV opportunities to buy cards and hold them either via packs or through some sort of online marketplace?
The third is a legit question. The first two are kinda for fun.
The biggest reason I've never invested in sports cards is because I don't want to worry about handling and storing them.
Someone should make a version of Rips / Packs where you open some sort of digital sports cards that are, say, non-fungible and then you can like sell it or maybe even use it for paid fantasy contests or something
How should you build your NFL DFS lineups for week 7?
Start with this and figure out the rest...
You're welcome

Week 7 cash is the week to pay up at running back.
@Funconomist is building around Jahmyr Gibbs and Christian McCaffrey, then hunting value everywhere else:

Sunday night should be a track meet, and @Funconomist is fading kickers and defenses entirely:

Wide Receiver
I highlight in this week’s cash article that there are a nice mix of value options at wide receiver this week, which positions premier receivers as more feasible to fit into lineups.
Couldn’t be clearer with Puka Nacua finding his way into nearly every lineup.
Tight End
Not a ton of price differentiation at tight end this week, but Isaiah Likely is the best option among the pack. He has 25 targets in the last two games with Jameis Winston at the helm.

I used the @4for4football DFS projections for Sunday’s main slate and built 10,000 optimized lineups for cash games, with no other lineup rules implemented.
Here is a look at who pops in the optimizations by position.
Quarterback
Josh Allen is the clear winner.
There are a plethora of low-salary quarterbacks in consideration this week but interestingly none of them show up in more than 2.5% of lineups.
I hate this tbh
College Football Playoff nearing deal to expand to 24 teams, per @PeteThamel.
Will start in 2027.
Have been seeing a good conversation sparked by @PlusEV regarding which books / exchanges are the sharpest to use to top-down bet with in the modern ecosystem with so much liquidity on exchanges…
Thought it was as good of a time as any to resurrect this absolute banger.

I plan to de-vig from this guy’s ball knowledge to price sports markets.

Bijan Robinson and Derrick Henry are the obvious captain chalk.
@Funconomist is fine eating it, then getting different in the FLEX with lower-owned combinations and mid-tier value:

Cash games are about floor, not getting cute.
@Funconomist builds Week 5 around the slate’s strongest game environment, then finds the salary relief needed to fit the core pieces:
