URGENT PUBLIC APPEAL I never imagined having to make a post like this, but I desperately need your help. On October 31, while covering a wedding at Oriental Hotel, Lagos, my bag was stolen from inside the bride's room. The bag contained my MacBook Pro M1 and FOUR external hard drives holding approximately FIVE weddings yet to be delivered to my clients. These are not just files. They are people's once in a lifetime memories, months of hard work and my livelihood. Thankfully, we have obtained CCTV footage showing the individual entering, taking my bag and leaving the hotel. I'm offering a N500,000 REWARD for credible information leading to the identification of this individual and recovery of my belongings through the appropriate authorities. Please you can send a message or call this number for any update 09033892670 Please guys help me repost abeg, this is very important please. 🙏🏾

I’m sure your words would have been of great comfort to the women imprisoned for months in those stinking, cramped dungeons, taken out at the governor’s pleasure or left in the blistering sun without food or water if they resisted his advances, before being marched through the Door of No Return. Africans fully participated in the slave trade at Elmina, Ghana. Trade records from the Dutch West India Company, Royal African Company, and Danish ledgers from Elmina, Cape Coast show African rulers and merchants negotiating prices, quantities, and terms with European factors. African brokers and rulers controlled who could trade and where. African-authored testimony, for example, Ottobah Cugoano, a Fante man enslaved around 1770, wrote that he was kidnapped by fellow Africans and sold into slavery. In fact the Asante expansion in modern-day Ghana involved conquering neighbours like Denkyira, Akyem, and Gonja. The prisoners taken in those wars- by Africans- supplied both the coastal trade and domestic labour. The fort archaeology from excavations at Elmina, Cape Coast, and inland Asante sites back all of this up. On your logic, the government of Ghana should be apologising for their involvement in slavery.

Give it up for the production managers and their team on #CelebrityTraitors. The risk assessment for this show must be crazy.

🚨 NEW: Laura Kuenssberg has revealed a Government Minister may have wanted a threesome with her after she arrived for an interview in his hotel room to find him on the bed shirtless with his partner waiting "It was very uncomfortable"
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The original description from Kuenssberg's book, as reported in The Times, states she found the minister with "his shirt undone several buttons too many," not shirtless. Multiple outlets quote the same wording. thetimes.com/culture/books/… telegraph.co.uk/politics/2026/… mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

Does anyone remember when social media first came out, and it was just regular people posting pics or thoughts, no one trying to go viral, no influencers. Just vibes. What a time.

They called Jason Arday a fraud, a plagiarist They said his work was "high school level." They published it in The Times, The Telegraph, GB News. They made him the face of "DEI mediocrity." They hunted him for weeks. Taylor & Francis investigated twice and found no plagiarism.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Taylor & Francis cleared one paper, but in 2024 its own journal corrected another paper for text overlap, and he admitted errors in his thesis. Ohio State, Glasgow, Durham, Coventry denied he held the visiting posts he claimed. If people dislike Elon Musk so much, why do they still use the platform he owns?

South London knows talent when it sees it. Huge congratulations to Raye on winning the Mercury Prize. As someone who also grew up in Tooting, it's great to see a fellow south Londoner who started out in our community take home one of music's biggest honours.
