October 1535 Cartier anchors for the winter in what is now Quebec City…
His two largest ships, the Grande Hermine and the Petite Hermine were laid up at the mouth of the Lairet stream where it flowed into the larger Saint-Charles River.
On the riverbank right next to this anchorage, Cartier's crew constructed a solid wooden fort where they spent the brutal winter trapped in the ice.
25 of the 110 crew perished that winter.
Mysteriously despite decades of systematic digging, no physical trace of Jacques Cartier's 1535–1536 fort or the graves of his 25 sailors has ever been found at this location.
The location was based on Cartier’s journal which states:
“we found a fork in the river, very beautiful and pleasant, where there was a smaller river [...] which we found to be a favourable location for the safe anchorage of our vessels. We named the said location Sainte-Croix..."
“Hey guys, what do you think of the changes I made to the decor?”
“The words ‘you sick fuck’ spring to mind.”
They would especially like the actual home invaders to call, confess, and give their current location.

The assistant had seen Joe Dirt. That pretty much explains everything.
David Spade woke up at 6 a.m. to his personal assistant standing in his bedroom.
“Is there anyone else in the house?”
“No,” Spade said.
Then the man punched him in the face and hit him with a stun gun.
Spade says they had spent the previous day editing Joe Dirt. They had even made plans to go out the following night.
Nothing had seemed wrong.
The assistant had the security codes to Spade’s house. He said the alarm company had called.
Spade looked up and saw him in the doorway, mostly a silhouette.
Then came the question.
Then the punch.
Spade says he was thrown to the floor and kept asking himself if it was a dream.
When he finally got free, he saw blood.
The man came at him again.
Spade made it outside, but the gates in his driveway had trapped him inside his own home.
“I thought, this guy’s gonna kill me,” he says.
He was thrown onto the cement. Spade says he got one hand free and hit him five times.
Then he ran back inside, slammed the door and locked it.
“The door was shaking like a rhino was hitting it,” Spade says.
He went to his bedroom, grabbed a loaded shotgun and told the man he would shoot through the door.
Only then did he leave.
Spade says the assistant had been around him for five years.
He still didn’t know why he did it.
A local station aired the reruns until the tapes wore out.
With cast of Edinburgh's most unintelligible accents.
One hundred years after its Edinburgh cinema release, we tell the story behind Till the Bells Ring, a Scottish talking picture that included synchronised dialogue a full year before Hollywood’s own coming of sound. theb.fi/4BqNRtR
I'm back on my sci-fi story about the survivors of an apocalypse that never happened. My leads are about to learn they going on a sea journey.
Kind of strange to have an "Epic Conclusion" poster for Duncan Idaho. The poor bastard isn't allowed to die for very long, and goes on for thousands of years.
New character posters for Denis Villeneuve's epic conclusion #DunePartThree.
Check back tomorrow for the final trailer.
Probably the CIA's best animated film.

He's only responsible for the deaths of 60,000,000,000 people. It's just a statistic is your cause is just. 🤣
Like it or not, LOADS of viewers will STILL ROOT for Paul as the HERO, as Frank Herbert intended. Both the films and books portray him as trapped by prescience, with no better choices. This allows us to sympathize with Paul and root for him while still recognizing the dangers of powerful large human systems, which is also what Herbert intended.
FOR THIS REASON, positioning Chani in opposition to Paul risks making her the antagonist to what many audiences see as his most reasonable, albeit terrible, course of action.
