All major models in agreeance that it rains in Melb from 5am Saturday morning. Accumulated totals from 8mm to 18mm across the 3. So will be soft, just how soft will it get? Make matters worse, BOM model predicts 10mm Cup day from 1am to 4pm (that still a fair way out)

One of my best collects of the spring so far, after the disappointment of the Geelong Cup. Some decent odds bet So You Are over the last couple of days.
My thoughts Bendigo Cup, I think we are now paying a bit of Maher tax on a few of his runners, King Valley backing up for one last throw at the stumps, his price is creating value for who I think is the best horse in the race in So You Are, has the ability to absorb good tempo..

Interesting thing here, lots of Maher runners confirmed but not St George
📰 Connections of the following Melbourne Cup runners have told me their horse has undergone and passed the mandatory Computed Tomography (CT) scan: Point Of Law, Mr Monaco, Zahrann, Juja Kibo, Middle Earth, Shockletz, Royal Supremacy, Knight’s Choice, Onesmoothoperator, Soul Of Spain, Zakouma, Wine Dark Sea. Regarding the rest, I either don't know or they have not yet been scanned. The scanning window closes today for all horses, other than those in the Bendigo Cup (closes tomorrow). Cup runners also have two pre-race vet inspections; the first on Oct 29-30, the second on Nov 2. @Racing @SENGiddyUp

7 Days out from the Melb Cup and so far not one runner removed from the race due to a failed scan. This surely cannot be correct after recent years. Are we delaying the decisions? Are we going to get lumped with them Sat morning. Certainly stifles pre post wagering.

Lots of talk about @CricketAus being back in the game, was a great fightback but gee that have some history to overcome. Results of the last 171 matches where the sent in team has scored 300+

and still quicken at the end of his races, perfect set up here, I don't think they go hard on Gai's as Geelong Cup. I feel if So You Are can win this he is one of the best of the locals in the Melb Cup at the weights.

100%, more to finding a Derby winner than just speed figures and ratings. As an owner it's the race I would love to have a runner in, let alone win. It's my favorite betting race of the year outside of the Melb Cup. We don't need another rubbish race between 1400m- 2000m in Aus.
Would be one of the great shames. Profiling mile-and-a-half types, whether they’re slow or fast, is one of wagering’s great pleasures. It’s one of Australia’s most heavily wagered-on races for a reason. The Derby is the best, far more interesting than the Coolmore. Just terrible.

So Hopewell Rock currently sits inside the top 24. One will probably jump him out of the Bendigo Cup, but surely something comes out between now and next Saturday.

Beatty could be a star of Perth over the summer and I reckon he is good enough for the east coast as well. Should be unbeaten, devastating turn of foot.

How long will Waller keep us waiting IE Aeliana Melb Cup, I just want to know if JMac is jumping off her to ride the winner.

Best bet of the day Beatty wins as easy as you will ever see. Both big bets get up. I think Welcometotheshow was unlucky.
My best tomorrow. Flem card didn't do much for me.

Surfin Bird still pretty hard in the market for a horse that got laid by every tipster in the country today.

The Waller team is getting boring with the will they/ wont they Aeliana into Melb Cup. Cry poor me to the handicapper about weight, still have every intention to run. Unless she fails badly, she will be there. Same story back with VE.

Werribee watchers, Stinger Glass must be doing something right in work? Consistent shortener this week.

Point Of Law opens a can of worms for me. Excellent run yesterday, was so impressive. But I feel that some of the others at Werribee bring better form. Also the fact as a very young horse who has had his runs spaced at 34 days, 33 days, 22 Days, 104 Days (1/2)

(2/2) he is now asked to back that performance up or improve on it in 13 days time. But the form lines from yesterday bring likes of Hopewell Rock, Defiantly, Trustyourinstinct and now even Kizlyar right into calculations. Take note that was Joseph's 2nd string/ improving types.
