I'd rather the SNP's leadership candidates paid for their own campaign stunts.

Lubna Speitan, author of the Greens4Palestine motion “Zionism is racism”, spells out the central obscenity of our age – the grotesque inversion whereby the victims of ethnic cleansing, Apartheid and genocide must constantly fend off accusations from their tormentors that it is they who are the racists.
“We as Palestinians are being silenced and gaslit and vilified [as we] witness the annihilation, the cold-blooded murder of our families, of our people… our children burnt with phosphorus, having to endure amputations with no anaesthetic, having their limbs torn and shredded, their bodies burnt by phosphorus, being starved to death … And to have to sit here … and try to bury my feelings so I can eloquently and diplomatically shield my anger, my rage, my anguish that every Palestinian is feeling, is an insult.” /1

If Cymru wants to engage its diaspora, it needs the will to do so and to leverage the assets that already exist. It needs a deliberate plan for outreach and sustained engagement. It needs to realise that its cultural and educational outputs are valuable and unique ✍️Huw Webber nation.cymru/opinion/wales-n…

1/2 This is crazy: ‘Renfrewshire Council said "predicted tide levels and available forecast data" for the storm did not meet the threshold needed to use flood barriers.” However, look at what came through that night (Cont.):

2/2 Low pressure 949 millibars was a very deep low. Anticipate storm surge! Combined with the full moon’s spring tide it was an exceptional event. Why was nobody in Renfrew Council or
SGoRR (Scottish Government Resilience Room) monitoring the storm and pulling out all the stops?

Your barometer was right - here’s the pressure chart midnight last night Low 949. And a full moon spring tide and W wind too. Next high tide around 11.30 this morning though the centre of the cyclone will no longer be so close to the Firth of Clyde as it’s moving towards Norway.

One of the pernicious myths we are fed daily by politicians and the media is that very high-earners are more competent, successful, harder working & thus 'deserving' than the rest of us.
They're not.
"It is astonishing that nobody is taking responsibility for this fiasco. Why has Hayley Valentine, BBC Scotland director, not been fired? Her annual salary at almost £200,000 - more than the First Minister - is safe.
"Valentine was once executive editor of Question Time - the BBC’s most debased programme, a symbol of all that’s wrong with the broadcaster. So you get an idea where her talents lie.
"The BBC Scotland channel has cost taxpayers around £200million since it was launched. Sometimes, it aired shows that literally nobody watched. Zero viewers. What a cosmic joke.
"There was never any real commitment to making the channel work, there was never any thought put into programming. No care, no love, no attention.
"BBC bosses were peasants in a palace. They had the chance to do something great, and blew it.
"No wonder many see it as an act of deliberate self-sabotage." 👇

Elon Musk's anti-woke Grok-fueled take on 'The Odyssey' gets called "zombie-like."
A critic for The Telegraph wrote that the footage — made with AI specialists Wonder Studios and director Dev Walker — is “so unsettling you can feel your eyeballs twitch at its sloppy gruesomeness … the glassy-eyed characters, with their expressionless voices, give the episode a zombie-like quality … Penelope looks completely different in each scene … a take on the tale of Troy that deserves to be put to the sword, burned to the ground and hidden forever beneath the sands of time.” bit.ly/47MhisO

If Hayley Valentine won't depart from @BBCScotland , will she at least take a reduction in salary commensurate with its reduced status and output?🧐

The BBC’s Middle East correspondent frames the Israeli elections as Netanyahu against “leftist” and “centrist” figures like Eisenkot, whom she describes as “softly spoken” and “lowkey”.
What she leaves out is that he’s a former general and the architect of the Dahiyeh Doctrine, which calls for disproportionate force and deliberate targeting of civilians and their infrastructure.
In what world is that left wing?

This is the best article of why Lula was able to turn it around.
Populist FDR style “New Deal” policies in the country, the people of Brazil appreciate. This is the antidote to the right wing populism, oligarch/fascist fkry, consolidation of wealth and power, and use of hatred scapegoating the politically weak and marginalized people. This is to fascism what garlic is to vampires. FDR knew it and used it to beat back the rise of the Fascist NAZI movement in the USA in the 30s. It’s time for a New, New Deal.

Esta é a foto que está estampando a vitória de Lula nos principais jornais do mundo (vi no The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian e no The Times).
