Access to clean water is a big challenge in Modogashe, which has been hard hit by the ongoing drought in the region. Many households have lost livestock, there is an increase in malnutrition, and the area has also been affected by an outbreak of cholera. The Ministry of Health of Kenya, working with WHO, UNICEF and other partners, vaccinated approximately 2 million people against cholera in a campaign that ran from 11 to 21 February 2023.
