Full disclosure of my connection to Barron Collier Companies is now live on my website. They have a big network so I made a graph.
Amazing what you can find in public documents.
Like a taseful town boundary marker geting turned into an ugly 35' advertising tower...

"machines are tools, not persons. 'So-called artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean'.
Today, some propose granting these systems rights, or even legal personhood. Such an approach risks obscuring human responsibility and leaving those who suffer harm to confront a faceless entity."

Probably hurts my campaign, but if Ave Maria does elect me it will help me be a better public servant.
1/2...
"Development is not truly human if it increases consumption for some while shifting costs and burdens onto others"

Margaritaville should pay its share.
I'm making a free tool so everyone in Ave Maria can see what it would mean for their pockets.
Its all been so complicated.
Not for long...
I once smoked a whole chicken, and the children loved it.
"This is uuu-Daddy chicken!"
"What?"
"Uuu-Daddy! Like umami food that Mommy makes!"

Learning so much as a first-time candidate for public office.
For example, of course lawmakers exempted themselves from the same anti-spam standards businesses have to abide by!
(No, not taking advantage of that. I like my neighbors and hate spam.)
Its amazing that lawmakers have exempted themselves from the rules everyone else has to play by. I'm a candidate for a small local office and can legally SPAM my friends and neighbors. But yuck. Don't want to serve my community that badly.
Machines may, possibly, be made that participate in a type of "intelligence". Sensing reality and recognizing a form. Perhaps. As a camera may be said to participate in "sight".
But a free will? No. That I am totally confident it is impossible to manufacture.
Forget debt.
I'd die for them.
So the whole "go into debt if you have to" is mostly due to a recurring X meme we're playing in to.
I'm not advocating for people to go in to *a lot* of debt.
But I hear from many people (just look in the comments of my OP) they have a fear of "kids costing a lot" that is used as a reason for not having more kids.
What I have found in my own life is:
- I'm motivated to make more money
- The cost of having more kids is not as high as I feared
- We cut back on other things in life (clothes, nice furniture, newer cars, travel)
Basically, the money kinda works itself out. Which I get isn't the black-and-white answer the internet wants.
The truth is if you *think* you want more kids then you should have more kids because it will work out.
We're all spending our lives for something. Moment after moment, spent once and for ever. Gone.
What better to spend myself on?
