Thank you to Arizona State Representatives @MatthewGress, @TimDunn_AZ, and @JustinWilmethAZ for voting to overturn the outdated, restrictive, and confusing abortion law from 1864. #AZPolitics

THANK YOU, to the people of Ohio for voting to protect privacy and individual liberty! 18 Ohio counties that voted for President Trump 2020 voted to support medical freedom. This proves that supporting abortion access cuts across party lines. #OHPolitics #Yeson1 #VoteYesOnIssue1

A state that voted for Trump by an 8 point margin ALSO voted for abortion rights by a +/- 13 point margin. This shows that Republicans in significant numbers are as concerned as we are about curtailing a woman's right to choose. #OHPolitics #Yeson1 #GOP #VoteYesOnIssue1

Republicans massively overplayed their hands on abortion and I’ve been saying this is the elephant in the room since this summer. MOST Americans would agree to common-sense restrictions post first trimester. When Roe was overturned they could have been sensible and done that. Instead their states went haywire, doing crazy things like 6 week restrictions - way before most women even know they’re pregnant, a heartbeat can be detected, or there’s even a baby actually there. This HAS put women’s health in danger and no one but the fringiest of fringes is having it. It has also led to literal children birthing rapist’s babies. It’s a massive big government infringement on basic healthcare that should be between a woman and her doctors - the opposite of limited government or individual liberty principles. That’s why R’s have lost every SINGLE time the issue has been on the ballot since Dobbs - no matter how red the state. And they’ll continue to until their people put down the crazy Kool-Aid.
OHIO RACE CALLED: Voters have made #Ohio the fourth state in the nation to enshrine #abortion access for all pregnant people in the state constitution, @NewsNation / @DecisionDeskHQ projects. #Elections2023 trib.al/JI59duy

On Women’s Equality Day, let’s reflect on how far we come and where we’re going. #WomensEqualityDay

It’s good that some of the candidates can acknowledge that the current Congress does not have the votes for a massive abortion ban, and that a majority of Americans think one would go too far and do more harm than good. #DebateWithRWFP

ICYMI: The #SupremeCourt said Friday evening that the abortion pill mifepristone would remain widely available for now, delaying the potential for an abrupt end to a drug that is used in more than half of abortions in the United States.

a ruling from a federal judge in #Texas to suspend the drug from the market entirely and another from an appeals court to impose significant barriers on the pill, including blocking access by mail.

To give a sense of the impact of Florida's coming abortion law, take a look at how it changes how far women throughout the South will need to go to get an abortion after 6 weeks of pregnancy. nytimes.com/interactive/2022… @clairecm @qdbui

It has been 100 days since Roe v Wade was overturned and we lost the federal constitutional right to abortion. Today, 17 states have abortion bans in effect. Here are 17 stories from people in those states on how access to abortion impacted them.

Since the SCOTUS decision, 20 million people have lost access to abortion. As new bans take effect, more folks will be denied care, pushing them further into poverty or forcing them to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term. Read more from @washingtonpost : washingtonpost.com/nation/20…
