ALT Grand Valley State University is committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment for our students, employees, and visitors. The safety of our campus community will always be our No. 1 priority. Beginning Thursday, October 8, GVSU will enhance enforcement of its visitor and guest policy on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at the Valley Campus in Allendale. These measures are designed to strengthen campus safety, better manage late-night access, and help maintain a secure and orderly environment for everyone who lives, learns, works and visits Grand Valley. From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, entrance access to the Valley Campus will be limited to GVSU students, faculty and staff; contractors; pre-registered guests; and emergency and service vehicles.

ALT During these hours, the Lake Michigan Drive arch entrance will serve as the only public entrance to the Valley Campus. Other vehicle access points will be closed. All access points will be open to exit at any time. GVSU welcomes visitors to campus, and these enhanced measures are intended to ensure that those visiting during late-night hours have a university-related purpose or are registered guests of members of our campus community. These steps are part of GVSU’s broader, ongoing commitment to campus safety and to providing an environment where students can live, learn and thrive.
