Some disabilities/medical conditions show very high COVID-19 case fatality rates--higher than the rates for people aged 80-89 or 70-79.
Priorities for vaccination should be commensurate with risk of severe COVID-19 outcomes. This lack of prioritization is ableist & unacceptable.

Le 9 Mars, le sénat va débattre sur un projet de loi qui changerait le calcul de l'allocation adulte handicapé. Désolidariser cette allocation des revenus des membres de nos foyers nous donnerait l'accès à certains droits humains ; c'est aussi l'avis de la défenseure des droits.

Canada's vaccine roll-out priorities are not reflective of scientific evidence when it comes to people with disabilities
That's according to Associate Professor Holly Whitteman @hwitteman who says priority should be given these individuals, but it's not because of ableism
