It all started with my favorite Rune - MAGIC.INTERNET.MONEY (MIM). A meme, a movement, and the very reason I was compelled to open my Kraken account in the first place.
And here we go… from discovering my favorite Rune to becoming part of the Kraken ecosystem. The conviction hasn't changed, and neither has the enthusiasm.

many people are sleeping on $MIM and the 10k wizard collection that mavens is inscribing.

first, let's clear something up,there are two different collections:
- the OG collection of 1,337 bitcoin wizards.
- the new 10k wizard collection currently being inscribed.
the artwork for the 10k collection was curated by the community. after more than 60,000 submissions, only 10,000 were selected.
but what makes this so special?
provenance.
this story goes all the way back to 2013.
13 years ago, a reddit user known as mavensbot created what became the first known bitcoin ad.
he designed it in paint with the iconic phrase: "magic internet money" ($MIM)
the community eventually funded the ad to get it featured on the reddit front page.
so, what does this have to do with the 10k collection?
according to the community, the requirements to obtain WL are:
- 5M $MIM per WL
- holding an OG Collection 1,337 Bitcoin Wizard.

Yesterday an individual reached out to me claiming to have inscribed a message onto Bitcoin that was signed with the private keys of a Bitcoin address associated with Block 1,018.
Here is the inscription:

@zachmeyer_ and I validated that the message was indeed signed by the same "1NChf" address that signed the mysterious message that appeared on Bitcoin Talk on November 26, 2022, which left many people puzzled.

There are only a handful of people in the world who would be able to sign a message with a 2009 private key let alone a January 2009 private key from an address created 16 days after the Bitcoin Genesis Block.
The fact that this address became active again to inscribe a signed message fully on-chain on Bitcoin with the Ordinals Protocol is fascinating. To respect the privacy of the individual who reached out to me I will not share any details about them other than to say that they are excited that people are using ordinal inscriptions to store data on Bitcoin, the most immutable and permissionless database ever created.
@zachmeyer_ and I are honored that they chose the Ordinals Explorer that we are building "ord.io" as the message that they signed and we look forward to seeing what other messages could potentially show up now that the trend has been set.
