Former Disco Elysium developers have unveiled Red Rooster, a physics-driven RPG from @summer_eternal_
- Psychological role-playing with immersive sim mechanics
- Investigate suspicious fires linked to your brother’s fire station
- Explore a fictional city inspired by the 1980s Yugoslavian riviera and Eastern Bloc
- Move, manipulate and burn objects in a physics-powered sandbox
- Navigate political intrigue and your protagonist’s troubled inner world
- Team up with an opiate-dependent mathematician and a nunchaku-wielding bus driver
The studio also has an official manifesto condemning corporate greed, disposable-worker culture and AI-generated substitutes for human art.
Its stated priority: artistic integrity over profit margins.
Samsung says the memory shortage gets worse in 2027, not better.
From its record Q3 2026 results today:
- DRAM average selling price up about 20% vs last quarter
- NAND prices up by a high-teens percentage
- AI-driven demand in 2027 expected to "far exceed" industry supply
- Tight supply expected to continue into 2028
Samsung also plans to keep its supply focused on AI products: HBM, server DRAM and SSDs.
Not a great sign for RAM and SSD prices next year.

Xbox hardware revenue fell 14% year over year in Microsoft's July to September quarter.
From Microsoft's FY27 Q1 results:
- Total Xbox revenue: $5.38B, down 2% (from $5.51B)
- Content and services: down 2% (1% in constant currency), driven by declines in third-party content and Game Pass, partly offset by first-party growth
- Hardware: down 14%
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma said PC platform revenue grew by double digits this quarter, and that console sales remain "constrained by supply, with more demand than consoles available."
Microsoft's outlook for October to December: content and services up mid to high single digits, hardware down again year over year.
Microsoft still hasn't shared an updated Game Pass subscriber number. The last official figure was 34 million.
GTA VI's map is nearly as large as GTA IV, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 combined, according to Rockstar.
New details from Edge's GTA VI cover story (Edge 430, on sale today):
- Leonida is roughly twice the size of GTA V's map
- "An order of magnitude more interiors" than Rockstar's previous games, per co-studio head Aaron Garbut
- Around 600,000 NPC animations, with pedestrians assigned personality traits
- Fully working bus and train systems that run on timed routes
- Police use K-9 units and stinger strips, and a new heat system tracks your description, clothes, weapon and whether CCTV caught you
- Weather moves independently, so you can see a storm forming in the distance and drive into it
- A Criminal Profile from "Professional" to "Irredeemable" affects how Jason and Lucia's story unfolds
- The day-night cycle is substantially longer than GTA V's, and roads were narrowed to a "more believable size"
GTA VI launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC release date has been announced.
Ah, yes, rain in racing games. It's the oldest trick in the book, but damn it looks good.
A 12 year old game
RTX 5080 launched at "$999". Right.
Under quote marks because VideoCardz checked US retail today. Verified cards you can actually buy start around $1,980. Best Buy's online option is $1,999. Roughly $800 higher than two months ago.
So a 5080 now costs what a 5090 cost at launch. I'm tired, boss.
I don't know what MSRP means anymore.
PC gaming shouldn't feel like you need a second income just to stay current.
Resident Evil's main story now has a planned ending, and it could arrive within the next 10 years.
Capcom executive producer Jun Takeuchi told Yahoo Japan:
- The series' story wasn't mapped out from the start; it expanded with each game
- A 10-year branding plan was drawn up while RE2 Remake was in development, and the order of the remakes was deliberate
- With Resident Evil Requiem this year, he says that first 10-year cycle has closed
- "There won't be just one. There will be multiple titles" before the conclusion
Next on the schedule: Resident Evil Veronica, Capcom's remake of Code: Veronica, set for 2027 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2.

Call of Duty has passed $40 billion in lifetime franchise revenue.
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma shared the milestone on X on October 26, three days after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launched.
"One of the most celebrated Call of Duty games in its 24-year history, and now $40B in lifetime franchise revenue. An incredible milestone."
What the number covers
The figure is the franchise's lifetime total since its 2003 debut. No breakdown was given by game, platform or year, or for how much came from Modern Warfare 4.
The numbers around it
- $40B over 23 years
- About $4.76M per day on average, by PC Gamer's calculation
- Black Ops III: 43M+ copies sold, the series' best-seller
- Modern Warfare (2019): 41M+ copies
- Modern Warfare II (2022): $1B in sell-through in 10 days, the fastest in franchise history
How it compares
PC Gamer places Call of Duty behind only Mario and Pokémon among the most lucrative video game franchises.
What built it
- A new release almost every year, from Infinity Ward, Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software
- Expansion into mobile and free-to-play battle royale with Warzone
- A return to Steam in 2022: Modern Warfare II was the first Call of Duty there since WWII in 2017, and it reached Steam's top 10 by concurrent players
Timeline
- 2003: Call of Duty debuts
- 2012: Black Ops II reaches $1B in 15 days
- 2015: Black Ops III, later the best-selling entry
- 2017: WWII, the last Call of Duty on Steam for five years
- 2019: Modern Warfare, 41M+ copies
- 2022: Modern Warfare II hits $1B in 10 days and brings the series back to Steam
- 2026: Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23; the franchise passes $40B
Library of Ruina now holds the Guinness World Record for the longest videogame campaign: 113 hours, main story only.
That's 12 hours more than Persona 5 Royal, measured as of June 2026.
Developed by Project Moon, the game sits at around 94% positive from roughly 46K reviews on Steam.
A 2026 VR headset just got CD-ROM support so one Steam Frame owner can play NFS Carbon off the original disc. You read that right.
That's the most PC gaming sentence I've read all year.
Asked Oct 18. Valve replied Oct 19 and enabled it in the kernel about 10 minutes later.
Indie dev: $560K gross on Steam, $73K take-home after 5 years.
Refunds: $134K
Steam's 30%: $127K
Publisher: ~$115K
Taxes: ~$36K
Co-founder split: 50/50
Steam's cut wasn't even the biggest bite.
But sure, let's "vibe code a Steam alternative in a week."
Capcom just dropped their sales split for Apr–Sep 2026, and PC beats everyone else combined.
Unit share by platform:

That's PC at 57.1% vs everything else at 42.9%.
