Exactly. Dustin Byfuglien broke his body for the Jets and the Jets franchise really didn't seem to appreciate it. Most fans understood, I don't think True North or the media ever really did.

Also the backup goalie for the Jets this season is wearing 33. So uhh... No. As much as it should be retired, 33 isn't being retired. Buff himself probably doesn't want that attention.

Nah the two don't even compare. There was no hatred for Buff when he left. He was dealing with multiple injuries, a front office that was jerking him around and a dysfunctional locker room. He said eff all that and went fishing. Was it good timing? No. But nobody blamed him.

One more thing: For all the people that think the city/club will never forgive Hellebuyck only have to look at how Byfuglien is being received by the city/club this week. Him retiring really hampered the club for several years. Time heals many wounds.
