The left flank during the battle of Badeqe was commanded by Wazir Addoli, the flank that fought the hardest battle was Garad Matan’s flank on upper right river crossing.
The battle of Badeqe could have been a catastrophic turning point for the Imam's campaign. They were on the verge of being trapped and decimated. They would have either been cut down or drowned, if not for the Marehan forces who kept the left river crossing open.
Badeqe was the temporary encampment of the Ethiopian king, and the gold and plunder they obtained from there was the largest haul of the entire war.

In 1938 the Darood population of Harar territories was 350,000 out of that 350k, 200k were Geri koombe.
Majerteen had a population of 292k in Somalia not accounting for Galbeed while Ogaden had 235k in mainland Somalia.
