GM! Mini new season update thoughts for our managers @sportfun We're at the close of the first tournament of the season, and last week the first part of Football.Fun 2.0 rolled out. Since February we've been building towards something intentional: an active, skill-based game where Picks and trading are one unified experience, not trading with Picks bolted on. That's what we've started to ship, but there is still a way to go. We have shipped the new Set Picks flow. That's the hardest part (not counting the backend market infrastructure work!) and it's there. But Live, Squad, Transfers, Home and Account pages all need refreshes before we get to call this 2.0. I know some managers will prefer the bigger-squad version based around top performers they've grown used to. That game still exists and isn't going away. 70% of the reward pool still goes there. Picks is the onboarding path, the skill flex, the thing you talk about, the thing that's easier to invite your friends to. Trading is the depth underneath, arguably the true game - once you discover it and it hooks you. My expectation is that this will be the foundation of how FDF works going forward forever. Refinements always, but I am confident in this direction and this is the last overhaul in my mind. I also expect some chop as players adapt to change. That's normal. We're closely observing the new reward systems as much as our players are. Our design goal is a skill based game where all kinds of portfolio types are valid, depending on personal strategy. So if it emerges that anything is obviously overtuned or dominant in the new system - I would wait before making any kneejerk changes to your squad as a result. We'll likely refine and close any obvious gaps. I also want to acknowledge some real regressions in the Live experience in this release. The new Set Picks flow was the focus, and it worked. In fact, our data is that before this release around 30% of people opening the app completed their picks lineup. Post the update, that's over 60%. That's a massive improvement, the sort of stat that compounds into real growth. But the Live experience didn't get the same love, and that's on me. Small details that made Live feel right didn't carry forward into the new build. The good news is, they're quick fixes, not architectural. We'll close the gap fast. I accept the criticism and appreciate your patience. I'm excited to see people climb their division and get their first season rewards tomorrow. Let's get it.
