Pats Deep Dive Recruiting Class of 28 WR/TE Gavin Brooks- @GavGotNext 6-3/196 Baton Rouge, LA The frame is the first thing you see Brooks is already 6’3, 196 as a junior. That is a real outside receiver body, not a projection. He has added weight since last fall and still looks like he has room to fill out. Long arms, long levers. He can play on the boundary or flex in, could possibly transition to full time TE. He can go get the football First catch of the junior season was a simple look: extend, finish, turn upfield. That catch radius is the strength. You do not have to be perfect with the throw. He can high-point it and pluck it away from his body. WR/TE flexibility He lists both for a reason. Height to work the seam. Size to play attached or flexed. Staffs that want a bigger receiver who can also function as a mismatch tight end will like that. Track background helps 400 and relays. That usually means enough long speed and the ability to keep running late. He is a strider, not a twitch slot. The speed plays more down the field than in a phone booth. Zachary pedigree He is coming out of a physical, winning program. That matters. The habits and the environment are already there. Two years left Junior year just started. Camp circuit is already going (LA Tech, UL, Northwestern, Kansas, National Combine invite). The traits are in place. Production and polish come next.
