Unashamedly Conservative. I suspect I’d be deemed far-right, but I’m just right. #FSU

The Government is wasting £1.2 billion of taxpayers’ money on a scheme designed to disguise the fact that our benefits system is so generous that people can choose not to work.

I watched the Matthew Perry documentary on Netflix today. It was really very sad how he thought he couldn’t escape his addiction. I must read his autobiography next.

The real cost to business is £16.95 when you include NI, statutory holiday pay and minimum employer pension contributions. This is unfathomably stupid. There are many viable businesses that are unviable because of this. My first job was £2.30 an hour and there were no employment rights, minimum wage or holiday pay. The job was a privilege and created the right incentives to work hard. Economics is about what works, not what sounds good. The incentives here are flipped and a job is now being treated like an entitlement. So let's talk about the two big consequences for businesses already operating at the margin: 1. Wage compression - less jobs for younger people as it is less risky to employ older, more mature people for base wage roles. 2. Businesses that are currently viable or on the margin, will become unviable. We are ruled my morons.
🚨 NEW: John Healey will increase the minimum wage for over 21s from £12.71 to around £13.20

Alastair Campbell calling himself a 'national treasurer' reminds me of this Margaret Thatcher quote: "Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't"

Why would people who voted for a black woman to lead their party, and gave us the first British Jewish and British Indian Prime Ministers enter a coalition with people who called… @RishiSunak a “P*ki”, @KemiBadenoch a “Nigerian Scammer” and who according to @SarahForRuncorn have a woman problem as a party? I used to think a Reform-Tory coalition could work, I have changed my mind in the last 12 months.

40 years today since the ‘Big Bang’ hit the City of London To me, sounds like apt timing to do it again!

Burnham and Healey think they’ve been clever. I suspect the public and the markets will think differently.
The optics of Poundland going bust on the same day as the Budget will be, to put it politely, disappointing for the Chancellor.

I had to buy liquid bone broth as I’ve run out of the powdered stuff. Half the protein, half the collagen and several times the price. The powdered broth is about £25 from Amazon and I get loads of servings. The only difference is you have to add the aromatics yourself.

It’s also the view of a lot of BLM types. Reform = BLM. ✊🏿
It's such a strange take from @Nigel_Farage . He seems to be suggesting only White People can be racist. I'm sure most Reform voters would agree.....👀

That’s crazy. I wouldn’t mind but people in Scotland don’t have much to show for it.
Minimum wage is now £27,456. SNP additional tax on "high earners" starts at £29,527

He’s tied himself in knots over this, because of the pressure from Restore. He’s no genuine beliefs. He’s trying to Hold his polling up. And coming from someone that tried concealing a £5 million bung and whose ‘shadow chancellor’ is being investigated for receiving money from a foreign dodgy source, he’s truly hard faced. Voters by and large aren’t daft.
'Do you think it's racist' Reform UK leader Nigel Farage was questioned on #BBCBreakfast after his former senior aide Raheem Kassam called Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch as a 'Nigerian scammer' bbc.co.uk/news/topics/cp07jz…

Even just a freeze for the rest of the parliament would save billions. Obviously I’d personally go much, much further.
Tomorrow the Chancellor must address the welfare budget. Half a BILLION pounds a day on working-age welfare. The wrong incentives and the bill is growing. Labour cancelled our reforms which the OBR said would see 450,000 fewer people on health benefits. The Chancellor must act.

Starting salary for a nurse is a few grand extra. That means they’ll be back for more next year.
Britain’s new minimum wage: £27,456 a year. Higher-rate income tax kicks in at £50,270. Wage compression the Soviet Union could only have dreamed of.

Our supermarkets are very efficient, but there’s only so much they can keep costs down.
More worrying news on inflation and for interest rates... ☹️ BRC survey finds shop price inflation jumped to 2.1% year on year in October, from 1.4% in September. "The dam is starting to break on the huge wave of costs retailers have absorbed over the last two years." brc.org.uk/news-and-events/n…

Oh we’ve got an economics genius here that thinks increasing labour costs alone by over 50% (60% if we include increases to ER’s NI) in 6 years doesn’t result in price increases.

Any MP in a working class town in 2016 would’ve known this. Any MP for a working class town in 2026 would’ve known know that there’s an issue with unemployment in those towns. Andeh is just proving he’s dishonest and/or incapable of being trusted to speak in interviews.
There is nothing socialist about a system of free movement that is used by multi-nationals to undermine wages. WATCH my Brexit speech today.
