i only dislike halloween photoshoots when the costume *is* the photoshoot. like if you were out on the street no one would recognize you have a costume on

The thing that makes the celebrity photoshoot recreations for Halloween not hit as much is the fact that yall never come out of homage mode. Ppl do it all year long so it doesn't look like anything special on Halloween. Get real costumes!

miss seeing celebs drunk walking out of parties in their expensive costumes all weekend, instead of whatever the pandemic turned halloween into, like girl it's just a photoshoot

This is what I’ve been saying the whole time. The things that people hate her for is ridiculous and truly don’t make sense.
They are mad she’s not Democrat.
They are mad because her husband has been to jail for sexual assault, that’s who she fell in love with like what? She’s been knowing him since she was a kid.
They are mad about her brother and placing the blame on her, that’s weird.
They are mad she chose to speak up about injustices from her work place.
They are mad because she some how beef with so many artist however if you go back most of those artist spoke on her first.
If she had sat there and said nothing people would still be judging her just as harshly because her genre isn’t looked at as renowned, like most singers, she was going to be ridiculed because she’s a woman, then a black woman at that. You seen how fast they were ready to deport her all because she wasn’t Democrat and she aligned with MAGA, now they not even standing on their guidelines of immigrants who built lives here.
The goal post moved, all because she became the queen of rap, if she wasn’t the queen and wasn’t as prominent in the industry they wouldn’t even care to discuss her.
The first thing the industry will do if you don’t agree with the majority is take you down by humiliating you and isolating until you either kill yourself or you die off some drug no one knew you were taking.
I usually stay out of this topic, but people aren’t allowed to grow or change, which bothers me. Let this be her season. You don’t have to fool with her, and just because she’s encouraging people to vote doesn’t mean the republic party will win. Do your research and get out there and make a difference. And for the love of God we all do not have to think the same.
WHEN DID BLACK WOMEN BECOME PROPERTY OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY?
I have watched the absolutely disgusting attacks against Nicki Minaj because she dared to associate herself with President Donald Trump.
And what disgusts me most is the audacity of people who preach Black empowerment while attempting to publicly humiliate a Black woman who exercises her own political sovereignty.
For centuries, Black women were denied the freedom to determine their own destinies. Their bodies were scrutinized, their dignity assaulted, and their individuality subordinated to the demands of people who believed they knew what was best for them.
Remember Sarah Baartman, the African woman exhibited in Europe as the so-called Hottentot Venus? Her body was turned into a spectacle for the amusement and examination of others.
Now look at the political spectacle surrounding Nicki Minaj.
Her appearance, her sexuality, her marriage, her family, her past. Everything becomes ammunition the moment she steps outside the political boundaries others have established for her.
I’m not equating today’s political criticism with the historical exploitation of Sarah Baartman. I’m asking why the impulse to publicly degrade a Black woman remains so easy to recognize.
Where are the feminists screaming MY BODY, MY CHOICE?
Where are the champions of Black female independence?
Where are the people who insist that Black women deserve autonomy, dignity, and the freedom to make decisions without being controlled by others?
Apparently, those principles become negotiable when a Black woman refuses to conform to their political orthodoxy. @NICKIMINAJ
Nicki Minaj is not obligated to vote Democrat. She is not obligated to hate Donald Trump. She is not obligated to explain her political associations to people who believe Black identity comes with a mandatory political allegiance.
And she certainly isn’t responsible for every action committed by someone related to her.
If you disagree with her politics, challenge her arguments. If you disagree with President Trump, challenge his policies.
But attempting to discredit a Black woman by excavating every humiliating detail of her personal life isn’t an argument. It’s an attempt at social punishment.
And I find something particularly repugnant about people claiming to defend Black women while celebrating the public degradation of one who refuses to obey them.
Black sovereignty means the freedom to think independently, even when that independence makes other people uncomfortable.
Nicki Minaj belongs to herself.
Not the Democratic Party. Not the Republican Party. Not the political establishment. Not the people who believe they own the Black vote.
You cannot claim to support the liberation of Black women while demanding their political obedience.
That’s not empowerment. That’s conditional freedom.
And conditional freedom is not freedom at all.

Replying to @so_rudez
I also hate a “costume” that only works within the context of a photo and/or side-by-side
All the celebrities that secretly vote for Donald Trump sitting back watching the disgusting things that are being said and done regarding Nicki Minaj, just glad it’s not them and that’s even more foul and disgusting.

Let’s make things CLEAR…
Kathy Hochul attacked Nicki Minaj MONTHS ago out the blue, before Nicki EVER spoke on her. She even attacked her husband and referenced someone who spoke on her child
This is a sitting Governor attacking a resident of her state… it’s not alright

If you guys can’t recognize what’s going on here, no other celebrity has faced this much scrutiny & backlash all because she’s endorsing this current administration. It baffles me how the democratic party can ridicule and mock all because they no longer uphold the “status quo”.
