Zuby Ejiofor vs Cameron Boozer - 2026 NCAA Sweet 16: Duke 80, St. John’s 75 Top-seeded Duke overcame a double-digit second-half deficit to defeat fifth-seeded St. John’s 80-75 at Capital One Arena, advancing to the Elite Eight for the third straight season. St. John’s finished at 30-7. Zuby Ejiofor (6-9, 245 lb senior forward, Big East POY) led St. John’s with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, & 1 block. The high-motor combo forward dominated the paint with explosive drop-steps, putbacks, and athletic finishes, while adding elite rebounding, help-side defense, and improved playmaking/vision as a connector. His late-game physicality and foul-drawing kept the Red Storm in contention. Countering him, Duke freshman Cameron Boozer posted 22 points (7-16 FG, 8-9 FT), 10 rebounds, and 3 assists in 39 minutes. The 6-9 phenom exploited mismatches with strong second-half interior scoring, offensive rebounding, and finishing through contact for his 22nd double-double of the season. Ejiofor’s two-way impact anchored St. John’s gritty run under Rick Pitino, though Duke’s superior depth, guard stability, and clutch execution prevailed in the elite frontcourt battle. Ejiofor was later drafted 23rd overall by the Atlanta Hawks in 2026. #TrueToAtlanta
