We don’t often think about the passage of time when we’re living in the moment. While today marks the 61st anniversary of I Dream of Jeannie, 61 years into the future was the furthest thought from my mind on that frigid day in December of 1964.
That was when we filmed the pilot on the beach at Point Dume!
When you’re filming on location, you don’t think about anything other than work. After all, daylight is changing, shadows are moving, wind is blowing. We were there to get the shots and get the job done on schedule.
Between hitting our marks and getting the shots, the biggest memory that stands out that day is that it was so horribly cold! There I was in a harem costume on the beach in December, shivering! It was so cold my lips were blue!
I look back now, at that day, and I truly cannot quite express how amazing it is to me that 61 years later, Jeannie is still with me. I had no idea what was starting on that beach, or how it would find a home in the hearts of so many, for so many years.
I also had no expectation that Jeannie, a delightful mythological, classic entity, would still be here! But she is, just over my shoulder, watching over everything!
I think of those magical 5 years of my life, where every day was an adventure. Between Larry and Billy and Hayden, and the whole crew, we never knew what would happen! Even with a script in hand, you could never predict everything. From our hilarious guest stars, to being locked in a safe and playing the wonderfully mischievous naughty twin sister…
I’ve said it many times and I mean it every time; I Dream of Jeannie was often more fun than work.
Here’s to 61 years of magic! To all the laughter, all the joy, all the silliness and adventures that remain with me in my heart today.
Here’s to you, the fans! Your love, dedication and fascination with the show keeps the magic alive. I cannot thank you enough for the love you’ve shown me and for the memories you’ve helped keep bright.
Happy Anniversary Jeannie, still bringing laughs, granting wishes and reminding me of what a joy it was. -Barbara Eden

If you were young in 2001, or weren’t even born yet, it can be hard to imagine what 9/11 felt like. The shock of that beautiful, cloudless morning. The heartbreak of the families whose loved ones were taken with such swiftness and cruelty. The realization that the forces of malevolence and violence were closer, and the future less certain, than we knew.
But in the days that followed, we felt something else, too. Pride in the rescue workers who had rushed to the scene, and the passengers who had stormed the cockpit. Admiration for the men and women who left behind lives of comfort to serve their country. A deep resolve that nothing would break the will of a truly United States of America.
Today Michelle and I are remembering those we lost that day, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the wars that followed. We pray for their families. And we hope Americans everywhere remember the true lesson of 9/11: that we can survive even our darkest days as long as we move forward as one nation and one people.

As we commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11 today, we hold our loved ones a little closer and know that we are always stronger together. Your friends on Sesame Street love you and we will never forget.

This is how I remember Dolly, a gigantic talent possessed by an artist who was unreachable. Her songs were the greatest, and she was the greatest; no matter what, she will live on. Whenever she entered a room, she sparkled, and I believe she always will.

It’s amazing watching MAGA melt down over Pride Month.
We’re genuinely sorry your life is this miserable.
Try loving gay people. The vibes are better, the music is better, and everyone seems to be having fun.

AS MANY PEOPLE KNOW, I AM A TREMENDOUS LOVER OF “THE SPANISH.” IT IS A BEAUTIFUL LANGUAGE SPOKEN BY MANY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE IN THE GREAT STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND ACROSS THE WORLD. I AM ALSO A HUGE FAN OF PUERRRRRRRTO RICO. THAT IS WHY I AM DECLARING TOMORROW IN CALIFORNIA AS “BAD BUNNY DAY” WHEN BAD BUNNY PERFORMS AT THE BIG GAME IN THE GOLDEN STATE WITH HIS SOOTHING, BEAUTIFUL VOICE, AND HIS VERY NICE LOOKS. MANY PEOPLE CAN’T STOP TALKING ABOUT HIM ACCORDING TO MY “GUYS” AND “GALS!” (JESSE WATTERS IS OBSESSED WITH HIM ALMOST AS MUCH AS HE IS WITH ME!). WE LOVE BAD BUNNY! HE IS NEARLY AS “HOT” AS ME, WHICH IS A BIG COMPLIMENT, BECAUSE THERE IS NOBODY “HOTTER.” HAPPY BAD BUNNY DAY, AMERICA. ENJOY!!! —GOVERNOR GCN
