The ceremony is starting with a First Nations land acknowledgment ceremony. Two of the presenters are wearing "First Nations Second City" t-shirts.
They are mentioning many of the groups who inhabited the Great Lakes before and after 1492. #HugoAwards

It's #WorldKissingDay, so naturally we're thinking about kissing books.
This large, battered missal contains the texts a priest would need in order to perform the Mass.
See the square of parchment beneath the engraving on the left? That's for kissing!

Congrats to all this year's nominees! You did amazing work, and you deserve this.
And to our first time nominees, protect your joy. Protect the SHIT out of it. It will always be an honor. It will never be this glittery and unreal again.

Living room wall section redecoration complete! Extra thx @GeekCalligraphy for that delightful custom piece of me chasing errant “thats” with my red editor’s pen. That white mid century style accent cabinet is WAY better than the old dark heavy console table.

OpenSea is now rejecting takedown requests (sent via their own Takedown Form) on stolen artwork, citing their ToS as the reason. We've heard from multiple artists who have sent proof of ownership, but OpenSea refused to take the work down. This thread has more info.⬇️

Every so often one must sit diwn with one’s creeds and read them as for the first time. (this one of mine is recorded by @GeekCalligraphy, not so much created as informed)

So, I just realized A Thing.
Are you coming to @worldcon2021? Are you a Jewish adult? Will you be there on Tuesday night?
If all of these things are true, you can help me observe my father’s 20th yahrtzeit by creating a minyan where I can say Kaddish.

If you need an NFT to collect art, then it was never about art in the first place.
