This study encompasses my view of everything. If it can be even 1% better, it should be. SA is not normally distributed and applying “average SA correction” to every patient may not be best practice. @GeethaDavisMD @APG_eye

We’re always taught every 1° a toric IOL rotates it loses 3% if it’s effect. There’s many chances to loses some accuracy during surgery yet toric outcomes are consistently so excellent. Read our theory why at @OphthoMag now!

Great work @EyeFlyMD! One of my favorites things is seeing that beautiful red reflex that has been hiding behind the mature lens.
Very few things are more satisfying than removing that last piece of a mature cataract. Phaco needle central, NOT chasing pieces, and being slow and deliberate is key. @GeethaDavisMD also emphasized not to buttonhole through ANY piece. Re-position!

Ophthalmology has the coolest toys. LASERS are used every day from the front of the eye (refractive surgery with the excimer laser) to the back (PRP with argon) and there's some wavelengths that should be committed to memory.

Some of my favorite cases involve collaborating with surgery to make sure we provide the most optimal care to our patients. Our urologists helped provide thermal protection so we could adequately treat these pelvic recurrences with cryoablation. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/article…
