I was briefly in a Christian fraternity in college. We had a speaker come in for one of our weekly meetings. It was the father of a frat brother who flew down to Texas from Chicago to speak to us.
He was a very successful businessman who made his money in manufacturing and was also an elder in his church.
I’ll never forget what he said about their elder selection process at their church. He explicitly said they had a no fat elders policy. It showed a weakness of character for a man to let himself go like that. I respect that and that church was ahead of the curve on reclaiming a focus on having our leaders in the church fighting fit.

Multiple roommates. Ramen noodles. Near public transportation. Respect to the people who do whatever it takes.
I worked as a bartender. Bar-back. $2.15 an hr plus whatever tips got shared. Worked at a retail store. Never had benefits at any job.
Had 5 roommates in a 3 br apt. Ate lousy food out of cans and ate a ton of peanuts and shit food at happy hour. Had credit cards ripped up. Etc.
But I learned a ton. Taught me what was right and wrong about running a business by watching my bosses and their bosses
Yeah I know. It was much easier then, when inflation was 15 pct and national unemployment was 10 %. I know I was fortunate when I finally got fired from the store, and had to start my own business with zero cash. Bill collectors everywhere.
Even luckier when I found my first customer so I could pay my bills
But I recognize it’s so much harder today.
Which is why I respect the people who are willing to do what it takes to get started

The Taliban told me about every CIA meeting they had about invading Iran.
The first is that the US desperately wanted Bagram airbase back. It was the biggest US airbase in the world.
The US approached the Minister of defense & the Minister of foreign affairs about offering a blank cheque essentially.
The Taliban basically told them directly
“listen even if we did want the money, half of our forces would join Isis if we let you back in the country to bomb Iran from our soil”
The next attempt was a CIA mossad operation where they sent in an Israeli with a Spanish passport who posed as a muslim. They said they would supply the Taliban with unlimited armament if they invaded Iran from the West and allowing them to keep the land and prosper from the oil.
The guy was put under surveillance and was found emailing an embassy about this plan to get Iran invaded on a two front war. He was detained and admitted he was Israeli lol.
Some meetings I can’t speak about but they’re all pretty funny.

Missouri solved illegal immigration. Other states just complain.
The Show-Me State didn’t talk — it acted:
• 2008: 90% of voters made English the official language. No government services in any other language.
• Cops must verify immigration status on arrest and report illegals to the feds.
• Zero access to food stamps or Missouri HealthNet.
• No taxpayer-funded financial aid for illegals at any public college — and schools must certify compliance every year.
Result: Missouri has almost no illegals. They simply aren’t welcome, and they get nothing from taxpayers.
Arizona and others spent years grandstanding while Missouri quietly locked the door. The media ignores it because the results expose the open-border failure everywhere else.
Other states could do the same. They choose not to.
