To our Hon MPs: the ‘crime’ is NOT in offering certificate/ diploma courses, perse! It is the failure to properly define the type and purpose. Many Ivy League universities offer them, designed to up skill specifics and not as a ladder to the next rung!

Kenya’s Ministry of Education should establish a Special Committee to review the names we give to our universities; especially the newer ones. Some of the names are far too local and frankly, it will take years for them to have a profile worthy of a competitive university!
Logic and common sense demands that we put a moratorium on new public universities in Kenya. The 30+ that we have are in comatose. The glaring management and liquidity challenges are, simply, unprecedented.
Protocol. Order in civilized societies. Who should say what, about what. These breaches of order and respect will haunt us in the very foreseeable future. If you know, you know!
