This is what I think, I may be wrong. 1984 Thather introduced a mechanism providing a loophole for wealthy farmers/landowners to avoid inheritance tax. This led to other wealthy individuals such as Dyson & Clarkson spending millions on buying up land. Govt is trying to fix it .

Rachel Reeves has taken a long hard look at our finances and made decisions to give our country hope for a better future. If she can defend that then I don’t care if she’s revised points set out pre election. Needs must. I want my country and everyone living here to prosper

Labour has a lot to celebrate this week. While the media focused on Budget speculation, the government has quietly been fixing the country. 8 important changes:

Check your child's vaccines are up to date in their red book or with their GP practice. If your child's vaccines aren't up to date, book with your GP practice.

Ooops… Labour is criticised for what is publicly declared, Conservatives for what wasn’t. “Awkward photos show James Cleverly's wife was at freebie despite record saying she wasn't.” mirror.co.uk/news/politics/a…

The Media didn't hold the Conservatives to account because it is owned by the Conservatives. Can people please learn this, it is very simple. Then we can stop acting surprised about it.

If Keir Starmer's Labour Government can achieve all of this in just two months, I'm looking forward to the next 4-5 years:

Genuine question. What is the point of private schools, apart from to give more fortunate children a further edge in life than children of ordinary working families? Shouldn't we just make all state schools as good as possible?

It's quite true that Thatcher brought about meaningful change. Britain lost secure well-paid employment, social housing, trade union rights, final salary pensions and adequate funding for the NHS, social care and schools.

Why don't right wingers get that we, the people ARE the unions. They refer to unions as some kind of sect working against the people. The unions are the people, the unions represent the workers, we are the workers. When they slag off the unions - they are slagging us off.

If you can afford £53,000 to send your child to Eton, you can afford £63,000 to send your child to Eton. It really is as simple as that.
🚨 NEW: Eton College says it will pass the entire 20% VAT on fees to parents when Labour introduces it in January Parents will now have to pay an annual payment of £63,000, up from £53,000 [@thetimes]
