From drones in the air to uncrewed vessels at sea, NATO Allies, partners and industry came together to test the technologies shaping the future of naval operations
ALT An Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) developed by STARK operates at speed during maritime trials at REPMUS 2026. The exercise brought NATO Allies, partners and industry together in Portugal to test the latest unmanned and autonomous technologies in a real-world maritime environment. From drones and robotic vessels to AI and advanced sensors, REPMUS 2026 helped NATO explore how emerging technologies could be integrated into future operations.
The Bundeswehr’s Eurofighter aircraft normally operate at altitudes of over 4000 metres. This week, the Bundeswehr tested low-level refuelling over the North Sea. Watch exclusive footage here in the extended version!

Today, NATO Ambassadors met in the North Atlantic Council to discuss security in the Black Sea. NATO has already strengthened our posture along the eastern flank, including with counter-drone capabilities. NATO will be sending additional assets to the region, including support for surveillance, reconnaissance, and forensics. We will continue to stand united and ensure that we are ready and able to address any threat and to keep our one billion people safe
Air defence also means countering drones. Reservists from 🇩🇪 Security Battalion 1 and the 🇳🇱 Dutch National Reserve are conducting live-fire air-defence training with the G36 rifle in Upper Lusatia.
