Your site is up. But did the backup finish?
PingCron alerts you when cron jobs miss a check-in, tracks recovery, and helps find unmonitored GitHub Actions workflows.
Watch the 45-second demo. Start with 5 monitors free: pingcron.io
Ask your assistant for the timestamps behind the summary.
Request the PingCron incident window and distinguish historical events from current monitor status. Then compare the returned times with the workload logs.
A scheduled workflow can exist without a linked monitor.
Enable optional coverage checks and review that finding in PingCron. Use it to close a setup gap, then verify the heartbeat from the actual workload.
Read the scan timestamp before acting on a coverage finding.
PingCron’s source coverage helps identify setup gaps. Compare its timestamp with the latest repository changes, then verify runtime receipts separately.
Connected repository does not mean monitored workflow.
In PingCron, discover the workflow and review its protection setup. Install the heartbeat yourself, then verify a real scheduled receipt before relying on it.
GitHub Actions debugging:
"Send me the failed run."
"There isn't a run."
"Excellent. A log-free investigation."
Our checklist: schedule → workload → heartbeat → alert.

Practice the alert path with an explicitly labeled test.
Verify a first heartbeat, deliberately miss the next one, then inspect PingCron’s alert attempt. Confirm the destination and restore the test monitor afterward.
Which workflows in this repository actually have a schedule?
Use PingCron’s GitHub discovery to inspect scheduled workflows before creating monitors. Review the source schedule and timezone, then choose an expectation.
Match evidence retention to the job you will need to investigate.
Compare the workload’s interval with the history available on your PingCron plan. A previous receipt is useful only if it is still available when you investigate.
Your ETL pipeline needs a visible completion expectation.
Send the heartbeat after the pipeline and its required data checks complete. PingCron can flag a missed signal while your validation checks the output.
A useful incident handoff includes the last recorded success.
Pair PingCron’s receipt history with the relevant workload logs. The next operator can see what was reported and where the investigation still needs evidence.
Monitor the scheduled report before someone asks where it went.
Set a completion expectation in PingCron and report success after the required export and delivery checks. A missing receipt then becomes visible.
Verify the schedule, not only the command.
After installation, inspect the next scheduled execution and its PingCron receipt. A successful manual test does not establish that automatic dispatch worked.
A backup heartbeat is not a restore test.
Run your own backup checks before sending success to PingCron. Keep restore testing as a separate check of whether the artifact is actually usable.
Give long-running scheduled work a completion expectation.
Set the expectation and grace for its normal runtime. PingCron can flag the missing finish signal; the scheduler and process logs explain where execution stopped.
Start an investigation with the last reported success.
Open PingCron’s retained history, then compare that timestamp with scheduler logs. It gives the investigation a concrete point to work forward from.
The missing check-in starts the investigation. Dependency logs narrow it.
Use PingCron’s incident time to choose the log window. Check credentials, network errors and the workload result before assigning a cause to the missing receipt.
Awesome!!!
Payments that SafePay can't settle on its own now go into a review queue.
Each one shows the reason how long it's been waiting and which merchant it belongs to. Telegram alert as a bot if needed.
Thanks @GetPingCron for the feedback that shaped it.
Day 23/60 Building SafePay.
How do you know the next check-in arrived after an incident?
Check the recovery receipt in PingCron and compare it with the workload logs. A new successful heartbeat is evidence you can place on the timeline.
Keep independent work visible with independent expectations.
Create separate PingCron expectations when jobs have separate schedules or owners. Then a missed receipt points to the workload that needs investigation.
Saving an alert destination is only the setup step.
Send a labeled test and confirm it arrived where someone will see it. PingCron’s delivery record helps you separate detection from notification.
