๐ With the global order in flux, Chan regards Asia as comparatively stable. That gives trade across Eurasia, from the Pacific to the Atlantic, a solid basis to grow. Central Asia, at the heart of this landmass, is already making the most of this connectivity.
๐ค From the train window, he sees how fast the region is changing. On his earlier visits, hardly any building was taller than seven floors. Today the skyline is full of high-rises. Much of this change is positive. Nonetheless, he hopes the region holds on to what he treasures most about it: its food and art, its music and dance, and its people. In his view, the whole world can learn from this heritage and enjoy it ๐.

๐๏ธ There is something fitting about ending our journey in the city where the ancient Silk Road once began. Xiโan was the starting point of routes that connected distant parts of the world long before modern transport or communications existed. Today, it welcomed our international delegation for the final chapter of Tracks to the Future.
๐ค Following an official luncheon hosted by the leadership of Shaanxi Province, the closing ceremony brought together senior representatives from China, Europe and Central Asia under the theme โConnecting Europe and Asia, Shaping a Shared Future.โ
The programme featured addresses by ๐ซ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ด, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, and our Secretary-General Dr. ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฝ ๐ฅ๐ผฬ๐๐น๐ฒ๐ฟ.

What began in Duisburg as an ambitious idea has now taken us all the way to China. Along the way, we crossed borders, met people with very different perspectives and made time for conversations that rarely happen in the rush of everyday diplomacy.

๐ On board Tracks to the Future, our Advisory Board member ๐๐ฟ. @VladimirNorov , former Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan and former Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, explained how Central Asiaโs place in the world has changed. Once an object of big-power politics, the region has become an actor in its own right, located between three major markets: China, Europe and the Middle East.
Over the past 30 years, this position has allowed the countries of Central Asia to pursue a multi-vector foreign policy and build relations with the European Union, the United States, China and Russia alike. Today, global demand for rare metals and minerals gives the region new weight. Its ambition, however, goes beyond exporting raw materials: the aim is to process them and produce value-added goods at home. Join us for a secondย ๐๐ถ๐ฑ ๐ฐ๐ง ๐๐ฆ๐ข, where we sit down on board Tacks to the Future for conversations on the questions that shape our world.
๐Today @sidchat1, ๐๐๐ข ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐น๐ผ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐น ๐ก๐ฒ๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐, reflects on a world facing a global deficit of trust . The wars in Ukraine and Gaza have brought the issue of conflict into sharp focus, and we have entered a very dangerous period. Close to 170 million people are displaced by over ๐ฒ๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐ณ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐ worldwide. ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐บ๐ถ๐ฐ๐, ๐๐น๐ถ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ฒ and multidimensional poverty affect humanity on a level that trust for solutions decrease by the day ๐
