This School Bus Safety Week, what is more important than the safety of children? The 10 feet surrounding a bus is the most important zone for a child, and ignoring flashing red lights and stop arms puts their lives at risk. #GoSafelyCA @CaltransHQ @OTS_CA

For Teen Driver Safety Week, it's time to talk about the reality of new drivers. Parents are the strongest influence on a teen’s driving habits. Have the hard conversations today and set strict boundaries before you hand over the keys. #GoSafelyCA @OTS_CA @CaltransHQ

Red means stop. Every time.🚦 Just like the game Red Light, Green Light: Red means stop completely. Green means look both ways before going through the intersection. Look for people walking, biking and driving before you go. Let's work together to keep our roads safe. #GoSafelyCA

As Oktoberfest celebrations kick off, it’s easy to underestimate how festival pours may impair. Traditional festbiers carry a significantly higher ABV than your average beer. Call a rideshare, use public transit, or designate a sober driver. #GoSafelyCA @CaltransHQ @OTS_CA

If you are buzzed, you are driving impaired. It is never worth the risk. Lock in your "Go Safely" game plan before the night even begins: call a rideshare, use public transit, or designate a sober driver. #GoSafelyCA @CaltransHQ @OTS_CA

Tailgating season is here, but we're talking football, not following cars too closely on the road. 🏈🎉 Designate a sober driver ✅ Use public transit or call a rideshare ✅ Look out for your teammates on and off the road ✅ #GoSafelyCA @OTS_CA @CaltransHQ

Back-to-school is here! A few safe choices can make all the difference: - Make sure every child is buckled in the right seat for their age & size - Slow down in school zones - Stay focused and avoid distractions - Watch for children crossing—always and let them cross. @OTS_CA

"Never" can happen to anyone. When it comes to vehicular heatstroke, routines are often the hidden, tragic culprit. If you see a child alone in a parked car, don't wait. Act immediately and call 911. #GoSafelyCA @OTS_CA @CaltransHQ

Good times start with a Go Safely safe plan. Before the fun in the sun begins: Choose a sober driver. Don't drive after drinking or using cannabis/other drugs that impair. If you're feeling tired, pull over and rest. Take your time and focus on the road and driving. @OTS_CA

This weekend, record-breaking traffic is expected across the state. Make sure whomever is driving is sober. #KnowBeforeYouGo with #Quickmap for traffic and closure information. quickmap.dot.ca.gov.
