Great #WWD2024Scotland @ourdynamicearth facillating a workshop on Nature based Solutions #NbS #NFM and #SuDS. Lots of interesting discussions on knowledge gaps and development of action plan to address them.
Excited to start my #secondment with the @EnvAgency today on Pathways to #NetZero project. Great to start meeting some of the team @hbrooks94 and discuss what we'll be doing over next 6 months or so. @egis @HeriotWattUni Thanks to @IDRICUK for the funding.
Day out exploring the Allan Water #catchment and Nature Based Solutions for #flood and #biodiversity benefits for @mstetkiewicz @IapetusDTP PhD research. #NbS #NFM
#Geography student #fieldtrip to Gullane sand dunes. We surveyed the #dunes and measured range of weather and #soil related variables along with #vegetation. Great fun! and hopefully students learnt a lot. @hwgeog @HWU_EGIS
Great day out in the #Eddleston #Water #catchment planning some #woody debris dam #monitoring and experiments. Pleasantly warm and sunshine! #fieldwork #nfm #NbS

Fun playing with #playdoh in this mornings #River #Geomorphology class, thinking about #catchment #scale #sediment sources. Some really nice models incorporating lots of sources.
Great day out in the field with our final year #physical #geographers to the #Eddleston #Water catchment to look at a range of Natural #Flood Management interventions #NFM #NbS. Even the #rain didn't spoil the fun. Thanks to @tweed_forum for facilitating the visit.
Proud of all our 4th year Physical #Geographers who presented their #dissertation proposals and work to date as posters. Great to see the variety of topics and enthusiasm. Thanks to organisers, supervisors and students to make our inaugural event a success! @HWU_EGIS @hwgeog
Great to demonstrate fluvial geomorphological process and forms with this #sediment flume / stream table. #rivers #geomorphology #meanders #erosion. Thanks to @ForthRiversT for their input to.

Great (if a little damp) day on the water exploring the Firth of Forth with marine and coastal geography students @HeriotWattUni @ILES_HWU yesterday!
Great day out in the field assessing #river #geomorphology. Unfortunately river levels and velocity too dangerous to do all we planned but still an enjoyable day out !
