An opinion piece about climate and how racing has to adapt. Comments welcome.

Amazing that they have destroyed the credibility of both The Grand National and The Derby in such a short timeframe. Utterly ridiculous...
It is completely understandable that decisions taken by BHA officials may prompt passionate debate and be subject to robust scrutiny.
This is the nature of elite sport and something we do not shy away from.
However, we will never accept vile and unacceptable abuse directed towards BHA officials. This is a growing problem, especially on social media.
Some of the recent commentary under our posts is simply appalling. Everyone involved in British racing deserves to be treated with respect.
Absolutely disgraceful.. i don't recall a similar outcome after No Drama This End at Cheltenham when that idiot starter, Robbie Supple, bollocksed up his chances? What if Benvenuto Cellini had won? The BHA are utterly unfit to run the sport... #DerbyFestival
Would it be feasible to move the winning post on by 30 yards at Cheltenham so that the starts don't have to be on a turn without losing race distance?
Just a thought. Something has to be done because this is the showcase meeting for the sport and it's an absolute shambles.
Why have @Sandownpark scheduled the big race of the day at the exact time the low sun will affect the pond fence? Madness! 🤬🤬🤬
You can't beat a 4 runner hurdle with a 1/9 jolly to kick start Saturday at @Sandownpark. The next race looks like it could be even better. There are 5 runners in this one! 😔😔😔
I remember when the first Saturday in January at @Sandownpark used to be Mildmay-Cazalet Chase day. Now it's just another day. Tomorrow's card is particularly uninspiring, as are the meetings at Wincanton and Newcastle. Cheltenham had a record crowd though. That's what matters!😞
Thank you @SkySportsPL for spoiling my evening by telling me the score of the MVG v Anderson game that I was looking forward to watching later. Absolutely no need to have done that. I'm really pissed off about it. My plan of football and darts ruined for no reason 🤬🤬🤬🤬
I'm in a cranky mood this morning. I blame the hunt saboteur who was telling lies on the radio last night. All I wanted to do was horsewhip him and his moronic swampy friends until they had no skin left. Vile individual...
What an absolutely brilliant race. An incredible King George @kemptonparkrace. Nice to see an English winner too! Magnificent steeplechase!!!
Has anyone got stats on which courses are the worst for low sun causing racing to be spoilt? Aintree, Doncaster and Cheltenham spring to mind. I'd be very interested to see a full table of courses.
Anyone who backed Mydaddypaddy should be rightly unhappy. That wasn't a hurdle race, it was a flat race. If you bet on a hurdle then you are entitled to expect the obstacles to be jumped. If they're omitting half of them then bets should be void. Absolutely sick of this crap!
Surprise, surprise! Its @AintreeRaces and they are missing out obstacles. Jockeys are soft these days. Get the bloody fences and hurdles jumped you big girls! 🤬

The 1990 Breeders’ Cup Mile provided one of the most stirring moments in international racing when Royal Academy, ridden by Lester Piggott, stormed to victory at Belmont Park.

Beau Greaves didn't lose because she is a woman. She lost because she spends her time playing other women who don't have her ability. She is brilliant!
WANTED: VHS tapes of horse racing from 1970s-80s to digitise and make available on YouTube. Preferably not major festivals unless extended footage as most of this material is already online. DM to discuss.
Valid points, but trainers hardly support NH at @kemptonparkrace anyway. The field sizes are pathetic, and have been for years. Use it or lose it!
