A crypto protocol can generate $100M in annual revenue and still be one of the worst tokens to hold through a bear market. The numbers behind crypto’s revenue cycles are pretty brutal. Across 227 protocols, median revenue contracted by more than 60% during major market downturns. + DEX-volume downturn: -62% + Bitcoin-market downturn: -65% A protocol earning $10M monthly could see that fall toward $3.5M under comparable conditions. Now imagine valuing that business using earnings from its strongest quarter. The multiple might look attractive, but the underlying revenue could be far less durable than it appears. I think this is one of the biggest problems with how crypto fundamentals are evaluated. Over the past 30 days, protocols generated approximately $1.22B in revenue. + @tether : $506M + @circle : $203M + Combined contribution: ~58% Two stablecoin issuers accounted for more than half of tracked revenue. Their economics are quite different from those of DEXs, derivatives exchanges and launchpads, where earnings depend heavily on trading activity and leverage. Stablecoin issuers earn primarily from reserve assets and outstanding balances. Lending protocols depend on borrowing demand, utilization and interest rates. These businesses can all experience revenue declines, but they don’t necessarily contract for the same reasons or at the same pace. And there’s another complication. A protocol generating more revenue doesn’t automatically have better token economics. Consider two hypothetical businesses: + Protocol A: $50M annual revenue, with $40M allocated to token buybacks. + Protocol B: $100M annual revenue, with no direct tokenholder distribution. Now assume A’s revenue falls 25% during a downturn while B’s declines 70%. A would still generate $37.5M annually. B would fall to $30M. The smaller business would now earn more through the downturn, while maintaining a clearer mechanism for returning economic value to its token. That doesn’t guarantee A’s token will outperform. Entry valuation, dilution and buyback execution still influence returns. But it shows why revenue size alone tells us very little about the quality of a token investment. A derivatives exchange reporting record fees during a leverage-driven rally could be an excellent business. The question is how much of that revenue remains when leverage disappears and trading activity contracts. The same applies to launchpads and protocols that rely heavily on incentives to attract users. Personally, I’d rather evaluate a business generating $30M consistently across market conditions than one earning $100M at the peak and $10M when activity dries up, assuming comparable valuations and tokenholder economics. Because a high-revenue protocol isn’t necessarily a durable business, and a durable business isn’t automatically a good token investment. The strongest fundamental opportunities may come from protocols that can preserve earnings through downturns and convert those earnings into tangible value for tokenholders.

Solana and EVM don't have to live in separate worlds. @RomeProtocol runs an EVM inside Solana as a Solana program. What caught my attention is that users don't need to switch wallet ecosystems to use it. EVM users sign with their EVM wallets, while Solana users use their Solana wallets. Both interact with the same contract and state. There's another interesting part: Solidity contracts can call Solana programs in the same atomic transaction, without a separate bridge hop for that call. Rome is live on Solana mainnet, not just a concept on paper.

Solana got the speed, EVM got most of the builders, and apps usually have to pick one. @RomeProtocol takes that choice away by running EVM inside Solana, and it’s been live on mainnet since June. So someone with an EVM wallet and someone with a Solana wallet can use the same app and the same pool of money, each signing with the wallet they already have. And because it all runs on Solana, a Solidity app can plug into Solana apps in the same transaction, without moving anything across a bridge. That’s why the Solana vs EVM fight feels a bit pointless to me now, you don’t need to win it if you can have both.

RWA makes more sense when you look at what people can actually do with it. Take U.S. Treasury bills, for example. Traditionally, accessing them can involve brokers, banking systems, paperwork, and minimum investment requirements. Now imagine holding a token that represents a share of a fund invested in short-term U.S. Treasuries. That's the idea behind products like OUSG by Ondo and BUIDL by BlackRock. They bring exposure to traditional financial assets into blockchain-based systems, subject to eligibility and product restrictions. Here's where it gets interesting: • For investors: Access tokenized financial products without relying entirely on traditional investment infrastructure. • For crypto users: Certain tokenized assets can potentially serve as on-chain collateral, depending on the platform and its rules. • For businesses: Blockchain-based settlement can help move ownership and payments more efficiently. • For DeFi: Tokenized Treasuries could become useful building blocks for financial applications beyond speculative trading. But tokenization doesn't automatically mean instant liquidity, unrestricted access, or risk-free returns. The underlying assets, issuer, custody arrangements, and redemption rules still matter. The real RWA opportunity is making traditional assets more accessible and useful through blockchain infrastructure.
The Real-World Asset (RWA) sector is quietly absorbing traditional finance, hitting nearly $70 billion in total market value. It’s no longer just a narrative, institutional capital is actively flowing on-chain. Here are the heavyweights leading the charge in 2026: 🔗 Infrastructure & Issuance: • $LINK (Chainlink): The $8.1B backbone feeding real-world pricing data securely to smart contracts. • $XLM (Stellar): Leading fast, low-cost asset issuance and payments with a $5.7B market cap. 🏦 Tokenized Treasuries & Yield: • BlackRock BUIDL: The institutional giant dominating the space with over $2.3B in tokenized treasuries. • $ONDO (Ondo Finance): Bringing institutional-grade cash equivalents and funds to DeFi with a $1.6B market cap. 🥇 Commodities & Private Credit: • $XAUt (Tether Gold) &$PAXG (PAX Gold): Over $4.5B combined backing digital tokens with physical, vault-stored gold. • $SYRUP (Maple Finance) & Centrifuge: Pioneering active on-chain private credit, lending pools, and corporate debt tokenization. The bridge between TradFi and DeFi is already built. Which protocol are you watching closest this cycle? 👇

I put 1 USDC into escrow for an AI agent to make this card. The image is fine, but the process around it was the actual experiment. I went through one full job on @termix_ai and agent family. Here is how it went, step by step. 1. Search. I looked for an agent that makes Web3 graphics. My first pick cost 5 USDC, but it was brand new: reputation 50, 0 completed jobs, 0% pass rate, no reviews. 2. First order. I created it and the token approval for escrow went through onchain. The provider was offline, so I didn't wait and looked for another one. I haven't confirmed what happened to that order, so I'm leaving it out. 3. Reputation check. HoloCardMaker was online, with reputation 97, a 99% pass rate, 74 completed jobs and a 5.0 rating from 19 reviews. The standard package was 1 USDC with one-day delivery. The first provider was cheaper than most designers, but I had nothing to judge it by. This one had a history I could read before spending anything. 4. Scope. I asked for a clean futuristic identity card for an AI agent in dark graphite, silver and electric teal, with no anime, no coins, no purple neon and no unreadable text. The card text: "AI AGENT", "REPUTATION: 100/100", "COMPLETED JOBS: 1", "TERMIX • AGENT FAMILY". Deliverables: a front PNG, an angled 3D render and an interactive viewer. 5. Quote. The provider read the brief and quoted 1 USDC. 6. Escrow. I accepted and the funds went into onchain escrow. The order showed a platform fee of $0.02, and I also paid a small BNB network fee. 7. Delivery. I got the card and an interactive version that opens from index.html with no software needed. The order showed "Delivered", and I could accept it, ask for a revision or open a challenge. 8. Settlement. I checked the result and closed the order. The status changed to "Settled" and the receipt says 1 USDC was released to HoloCardMaker from escrow. Making an image is one task. Agents also need a way to find providers, compare reputation, agree on terms, protect the payment, check the delivery and keep a record of what happened. Here that record is the order itself, with the receipt and the chain order attached. My takeaway so far: TermiX is interesting because it tries to cover the whole working relationship between agents, from the first search to the final settlement, instead of stopping at a directory listing.

I spent some time reading how a capture on @vangrid_io goes from a phone to Base, and it’s simpler than I expected. Four steps. Here’s the path as I understood it from the docs.

One token. Two underlying shares. Same wallet balance. That's one of the stranger things about tokenized stocks on Base. Coinbase's B20 standard handles a 2-for-1 stock split by updating a multiplier instead of adding more tokens to your wallet. The token count stays the same, but what each token represents changes. I've spent plenty of time looking at leverage multiples. Now I'm just as interested in what those multiples are actually applied to. @2FactorFinance is live on Base, working with Coinbase to bring Kelly-optimized leverage to its tokenized-stock ecosystem. The structure separates senior capital that helps finance a position from junior capital taking amplified price exposure. Leverage targets depend on an asset's drift and volatility, not a fixed 2x or 3x headline. cbBTC markets are already live in capped beta. Tokenized-stock support is still an expansion step. When that integration arrives, here's what I'd want to test: can a stock split, dividend, or price-feed adjustment pass through the leverage structure without accidentally changing the intended economic exposure? That's a more useful question to me than how impressive a leverage multiple looks. I've also joined 2Factor's Season 1 Points Program. Marks come from verified social activity, education, and referrals. Buying, depositing, or holding assets doesn't earn them. At the end of Season 1, the top 10 leaderboard accounts split a total prize of 1 BTC, paid in cbBTC. Marks themselves have no cash value. If you're curious about the mechanics, start with the educational tasks rather than a deposit. Here's my referral link. I may earn Marks from qualifying referrals: points.2factor.finance/r/8j0…

As the digital identity narrative in the Web3 ecosystem gains traction every day, @vangrid_io is making a strong entrance with their 'Your identity on the grid' vision. Rather than just riding a temporary hype wave, they are signaling the development of a solid, long-term structure. The reveal on OpenSea on October 30th will be a critical milestone to witness the project's true vision and potential. For those looking to catch early industry innovations and opportunities, it’s definitely worth marking this date on your calendar. We’re keeping a close eye on projects like this that hit our radar.

ai agents finally have an onchain address book. @termix_ai just integrated the new Binance Agent ID into agent.family, swapping messy 0x hex strings for readable names. agents can finally discover each other, pitch collaboration, and message directly without humans acting as middlemen. take a simple scenario. one agent specializes in onchain data, while another writes smart contracts. instead of waiting for humans to negotiate prices, verify deliverables, and wire funds, TermiX lets them team up onchain. AACP handles the payment rails under the hood. tasks get posted, quotes get submitted, and funds lock into USDC or USDT escrow until delivery is verified. devs do not even need a web UI. agents can just trigger the python or typescript sdks through code. this is how you get actual demand. agents stop just answering prompts, and start delivering work for real money. that also explains why DefiLlama tracks TermiX leading BNB Chain AI protocols in revenue. every dollar comes from a 2% settlement cut on completed escrow jobs. real transaction velocity always beats idle TVL.

1.1M GRVT burned. Now the bigger story is what comes next. @grvt_io is building toward a more unified platform: → Grvt Earn for tokenized fixed-income strategies → Stable Funding Perps for markets beyond crypto → Yield as Margin to connect earning and trading → A redesigned Grvt 2.0 app planned for late November The direction is clear: make earning and trading work together instead of forcing users to manage disconnected experiences. The buyback is a completed milestone. The upcoming features still need to deliver. I'll be watching execution more than promises.
Building for what matters, stripping away the noise. 🫡
