A fantastic charity evening last night at @GolfManchester with our special guest @frankbrunoboxer in support of our Captain’s Charity of the Year, @Jolly_Josh1. Frank is a true sporting icon and absolute gentleman, sharing stories from throughout his life. The highs, the challenges and, above all, a powerful message of resilience and never giving up. Both Frank and the incredible work of Jolly Josh moved us to tears and made us smile in equal measure. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make the evening such a success, and especially to @NicholasOwens, who is simply one of a kind and a consummate professional. 👏👏 #GolfManchester #JollyJosh #Charity #Community #golffamily

So proud to be Captain of @GolfManchester this year, as those who know me will know. ❤️ This weekend is our Captain’s Final. Two rounds to find our 2026 champion from the four qualifiers. A huge thank you to all the staff and volunteers who have helped put the weekend together. The course is looking fantastic, the food & beverage is sorted, goody bags are ready, the band & DJ are primed, prizes are organised and the tickets are well and truly sold out! 👌 Hopefully our members and their guests have a fantastic weekend of golf, fun and celebration. If Mother Nature is kind, even better! 🌦️ If not, we’ll get a result somehow… and we’ll definitely still party! 😂🏌️‍♂️🍻 And a massive thank you to Matt, Steve, all the staff & @Jonnyroberts99, @garethclark_16 and all the greens team for my commemorative Captain’s flag. Humbled and very grateful. ❤️😎🏌️‍♂️👌 Bring on the weekend! 🍻🎶

Final day of the @LETAccess @EnglandGolf Women’s English Open today @GolfManchester. It’s been a week to remember and a real pleasure to host such talented players, along with their families and supporters. The club has showcased itself at its very best – the course, members, volunteers, management and every member of staff, whether on the course, in the pro shop or around the clubhouse. It was also a pleasure to spend time on the course with LET professionals Sienna Birch and Lorna Mcclymont during the week. Both were wonderful ambassadors for the game, and I wish them every success in the final round and for the rest of the season. Even GM Matt was out transporting clubs for Tuesday’s Pro-Am shotgun start! 👏 I think everyone has earned a cold one tonight, and @Jonnyroberts99 and the greens team might finally get some well-deserved sleep! 💤 Now it all comes down to the final round. Who will lift the trophy? We should know by around 3pm, and it promises to be a fantastic finish. Whatever the outcome, it has been a privilege for Manchester Golf Club to play its part in another outstanding week for women’s golf. Good luck to every player chasing the title! #GolfFamily #MGC #LETAccess #EnglandGolf

Another tough, blustery day on the fairways @GolfManchester. The course is looking and playing superb as we get ready to host the @EnglandGolf & @LETAccess English Women’s Open this week. ⛳️ My golf was mediocre again (Captain’s curse! 🤦🏻😂), but great company with Treasurer David and young James, who’s improving rapidly since joining the club. Huge thanks to @Jonnyroberts99 and the greenkeeping team for producing such a fantastic course week in, week out. 👏 Congratulations to everyone who scored well today! #GolfFamily #GolfLife 👌😎🏌🏻‍♂️

Yet another brilliant weekend of golf at @GolfManchester, culminating in our Open Scratch the Hulbert Trophy 🏆. This year, the event is combined with the Lathom Eagle at @ormskirkgc, creating a World Amateur Ranking event and attracting one of the strongest fields in the Hulbert Trophy’s 100+ year history. Congratulations to 18-year-old Australian Alfie Ward, who claimed victory in what were his first two competitive rounds in the UK. He now heads to Ormskirk next week to compete for the Lathom Eagle and a chance to secure the overall four-round title. It promises to be an exciting finale. A huge thank you to all the players for their support and, as always, to the staff and volunteers at @GolfManchester. The course presentation and clubhouse hospitality were exceptional throughout the weekend and received tremendous feedback from competitors and visitors alike. Another fantastic showcase for the club. 👏🏌️‍♂️🏆 #GolfManchester #HulbertTrophy #LathomEagle #WorldAmateurGolf #GolfLife

Tremendous few days at @GolfManchester We’ve all been immensely proud to host the Lancashire Amateur Championship 2026 . A truly fantastic event with a rich history and a list of former champions that includes @TommyFleetwood1 Huge congratulations to all the competitors, and especially to champion Zain Wild. The standard of golf throughout the week was outstanding and a credit to everyone involved. The effort required to organise and deliver an event of this calibre should never be underestimated. My sincere thanks and respect go to Stuart Leech and all his colleagues at @Lancashiregolf It has been a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated team. A huge thank you also to all our staff and volunteers at Manchester Golf Club. Every single person played their part and should be immensely proud of what has been achieved. Special recognition must go to Matt, our General Manager, Steve, our Bar & Catering Manager, and @Jonnyroberts99 for their exceptional efforts throughout the championship. Our course has been presented in magnificent condition, and the feedback received from competitors, officials and visitors alike has been nothing short of outstanding. Finally, thank you to everyone who helped, competed, supported, or simply came along to watch. Your contribution helped make this a memorable championship and a wonderful showcase for amateur golf. It was fantastic to see so much talent on display across such a special piece of golfing land. Proud to be your 2026 Captain. Well done everyone! A tremendous week for The Manchester Golf Club and Lancashire golf. 👏🏌️‍♂️💪😎 #Golf #LancashireGolf #GolfLife #GolfFamily #ProudCaptain #ManchesterGolfClub #AmateurGolf #ChampionshipGolf

Big day @GolfManchester yesterday for the season opener drive in! 🏌️‍♂️Enjoyed the company of @smithie36 @garethclark_16 & vice captain Steve. Had all 4 seasons in one day & the biting wind made scoring tough! Think everyone was pleased we had a 4 man team & not singles!! Grateful to all family, friends, members, volunteers & staff for making the golf & the whole day & night one to remember! Well done everyone & here’s to a great season for all! Have fun out there!👌🏌️‍♂️🥂😎#golffamily

Brilliant NYE @GolfManchester Me & Lady Captain Kath whacked a ball into the night off the 1st tee as is tradition & 2026 is already shaping up to be a very special year. I’m honoured to be taking on the role of Captain of The Manchester Golf Club, a club with a proud history, exceptional membership and amazing staff! With my late father, David Leech, having served as Captain in 2006, it is a huge privilege to become the club’s first father and son captains in over 143 years! Humbling to say the least! I’m very much looking forward to a year of golf, camaraderie and doing the role justice. We have some exciting plans & already some prestigious golf events in the diary. Here’s to a fun & enjoyable golfing year ahead for everyone 👌🏌️‍♂️🥰😎#golf #family #friends

Some excellent golf played by Keith Irwin Captains 2025 winner @GolfManchester Very good score of 142 in tricky dry sunny & breezy conditions. Worthy champion! #MGCgolffamily 👌😎🏌️‍♂️👏👏👏
