Has anyone ran the Massanutten 100 Miler? Need my annual 100-miler for Western States. I like the Silver Buckle if you finish in 24 hours - pewter for 24+. Plus they have a separate division for solo runners (no crew).

Only 150 spots. $243.89 to register + flights and travel expenses. Unlimited 4.167-mile yards (laps). Lottery results in five days. Hope I get in. @zachpogrob are you going?

Note to self: Hank went from 3:30 to 2:34. Massive, epic improvements are possible.
I think a lot of runners seriously underestimate how much room they have to improve. I ran 3:30:28 at Boston in 2022. On Sunday, I ran 2:34:49 at Chicago. Almost an HOUR faster. And I donโ€™t think Iโ€™m particularly close to my ceiling yet. The biggest factor for me has been consistency. Not one incredible training block, but years of gradually building fitness and seeing how far I can take this. If thereโ€™s one thing I hope people take away from following my running, itโ€™s this. PLEASE donโ€™t put a ceiling on what you think youโ€™re capable of. Especially when youโ€™re just getting started.

Watch just broke. Want to track training. But Black Friday is just around the corner. What do I do?

Old Dominion 100 is no longer a @wser qualifier, so I am scrambling to find a replacement for 2027. Some have already sold out. Bonus points if it helps build my @badwater resume.

They are a joke. @Strava has tons of data from runners, but they donโ€™t have the context. Someone is running a major marathon and enjoying it, has a cold, is recovering from an injury - it has no clue. So the ai generatesโ€ฆ useless predictions.
Strava and Garminโ€™s marathon predictions as of this morning both have me right around 2:40. I think theyโ€™re underestimating me. Weโ€™ll find out at Chicago on Sunday. Curious how accurate these have been for everyone else. What did yours predict vs. what did you actually run?

Went out to ruck 12 miles with a 30 lb pack. My route took me past the DC Half finish line, where I stopped to meet friends. Seeing everyone finishing the race convinced me to add 1.1 mi. So 12 miles became 13.1. 12 miles: 2:48:00 13.1 miles: 3:00:07 Missed sub-3 by 7 secs ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿฅพ Next up: two @GORUCK Basics back-to-back. That should mean roughly 10 hours of rucking with other people - a very different challenge from knocking out 13.1 on my own. Iโ€™ll share how that goes.

Iโ€™ve been mixing rucking into my running/endurance training more lately. If youโ€™re curious about getting started, pack weight, pace, fueling, or how it compares with running, ask away. ๐Ÿค

My goal is end of year! Still training building up - going well Pull-ups is the bottleneck, but an up from 5 to 50 now, need to get to 100

I love Shaan. Good inspiration. 1. Was 218 last fall. Now 190. Down 28 lbs. โœ… 2. Love bball, but didnโ€™t happen. Did break sub-4 hour marathon in Sydney: 3:52:09. 3. A Murph w 20 lbs is insane. I did a modified one and it took 1:34 with bad form at the end.
My grand fitness challenge for 2026: 1. Finish the year at 199 lbs (lose 20lbs) 2. Dunk a basketball for the first time 3. Do the "Murph" in under an hour will be posting updates for your amusement shoutout to my friends @superpower for pushing me to go for it

There was a time when Nike was on the feet of 50%+ of runners. At the DC Half, theyโ€™re still #1, but at just 33.1%. Take HOKA and On out, and Nike would be at 43.3%. Still on top, but the market share is shrinking. Small brands are taking percentage points and slowly growing.
Is NIKE really dead? This guy on Instagram filmed the entire DC Half Marathon and then used AI to analyze what shoes people were wearing. Nike was the clear winner!
