At the beginning of my last year of grad school, I had a falling out with my toxic advisor & was told I wouldn’t be able to graduate. Many months later I have completed and successfully defended my dissertation.
It took great courage & perseverance…but I’m now Dr. Angry Grad!
Let’s talk about navigating the job market for people who study DEI or who are from stigmatized communities.
I know that this platform has gone downhill, but I just wanted to take a moment to thank each & every one of my followers for your support. Y’all got me through the depths of hell during graduate school 🥹 I will never forget that!!

In academia, it’s glorified when you overwork.
What is one thing you’ve done to set healthy work/life boundaries?
What is something that you thought before grad school that ended up being completely wrong about academia?
Anonymous post from one of my followers:
“Has anyone ever had a Provost who is not a SME in the field override a committee's approval of a dissertation and edits? Provost is demanding multiple students redo arguements despite having full committee approval.”
I’m at peace with being single 85% of the time…but damn does getting sick really remind you how alone you truly are.
