We really must hold firm against demands for reparations. Working with a historian, I looked into the vast contribution that the British made to countries like India, Mauritius and Kenya for my book, ‘Patriot: Empire, betrayal and hope’. It was thanks to British investment, innovation and leadership that former colonies prospered, women were emancipated, girls were educated, living standards improved and life expectancy increased. We don’t owe these countries a penny.
The King will face protests demanding slavery reparations during his visit to the Caribbean this week, The Telegraph can reveal. Activists are understood to be planning to hold demonstrations on the streets of Antigua when the monarch arrives, as part of a long-running campaign to secure compensation from European powers. 🔗 hhttps://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2026/10/26/king-protests-caribbean-slavery-reparations-antigua/?WT.mc_id=tmgoff_tw_post_protests-caribbean-slavery-reparations-antigua/

A post on the importance of giving time and appreciation to elderly people: “Twice this week, I have watched an elderly individual, fade into the busy life in which we all live. One man just needed Panadol for his wife but the shop assistant simply said it’s in ‘6’. But he struggled to navigate the supermarket and as I watched him go in the wrong direction, I left all my groceries and took him where he needed to go. Today, I watched an elderly man struggle in the heat, who had obviously had a fall with a huge scrape and blood on his leg. He walked past people in the cafe, while he slowly made his way to his car. Not one person stopped. Or looked. Or acknowledged him. I took him to his car and checked he was ok. He told me he had a fall and wasn’t sure how the air con worked in his car so he just didn’t use it. I sat with him, until his air con kicked in and heard him talk about the old frail body that he is in, that fails him now, every single day. When you see an elderly person walking down the street, searching in the supermarket or struggling to their car, take a minute out of your busy schedule and ask them if they need a hand. Think about your grandparents and your parents and how pissed off you would be if someone didn’t stop to help them. But more, think of them as you. Once upon a time they were you. They were busy, they had work, they had children, they were able... Today, they are just in an older body that is not going as fast as it used to and this busy life is confusing. They deserve our utmost respect and consideration. One day it will be you, it will be us. I wish more people gave a shit about them and acknowledged them for their admirable existence and geez I hope someday, not that far away, someone does it for me.” Credit: Adele Barbaro

He died today, 1,087 years ago. 🕯️ The first king of all England. 👑 Alfred's grandson. 🛡️ 927: he marched on York and the Vikings ran. ⚔️ 937: Brunanburh. Five kings and seven earls dead. 🩸 Two years later he was gone. No children. 🍂 What he left us was our country. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 We call his grandfather Great. I'm very pleased that the Government has launched a consultation on the CO2 stunning of pigs. This is a very serious animal welfare issue that needs to be addressed, and I'm looking forward to working with experts and stakeholders to ensure we take action on this.
Lots of people have written to me about the CO2 stunning of pigs. As a vet, and as someone who had kept pigs in the past, this practice is something that really upsets me. This is cruel and needs to be phased out, so I brought this up in Parliament.

Sweden is officially ditching mRNA vaccines, and they are not hiding their reasons for doing so. artsencollectief.nl/zweden-k…

Misleading. Image text is from a Dutch group (Artsen Collectief), not a Swedish source. Sweden’s regions chose Sanofi’s Nuvaxovid as sole supplier for the 2027/2028 campaign only. Wheat flour is the main culprit, but I am still shocked that of all supermarkets @marksandspencer has it in every single flour laden product, white, brown and wholemeal. Check out all their Christmas goodies, if containing Folic Acid, put it back on the shelves. Why isn't the supermarket defending it's customer's health?
Even weetabix has it. !! Thought wheat products were exempt

In 2014, 888,246 ceramic poppies were arranged around the Tower of London to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. Each one represented a British or Commonwealth service person who lost their life in the conflict, a profoundly moving and beautiful tribute. We will remember them.

Has your life improved in the last 100 days? In any way? Have your bills gone down? Do you feel richer? Safer? Has your local community improved at all? For the average person, the answer is a resounding NO. Burnham is making tweaks as broken Britain slides further into terminal decline. He’s a talker, not a doer. He hasn’t changed the country one bit so far, and isn’t going to. We need fundamental change - and that's what I will bring. In our first 100 days, we will: Put the Royal Navy in the Channel and stop the boats forever. Begin the mass exit of over 1 million people who illegally entered Britain. We will make it impossible to live here illegally, so many will leave voluntarily. But, make no mistake, the deportation of those who don’t will be enforced. We will increase your tax-free personal allowance from £12,570 to £15,000 to keep money in your pocket. We’ll reduce your annual energy bills by £250. We’ll charge NO interest on loans for nursing students, lift the cap on medical school places and cut student loan issuance by 20%. If my ministers fail to deliver, I'll sack them. Simple as. The stakes have never been higher. It's time we have a government that acts like it.

Folic acid supplements is NOT recommended for children under 12 years of age, unless prescribed by Doctor. Or at least that WAS the NHS definition, that has now vanished off the web! So WHY is our government forcing this on our children?

🇬🇧🌺 SIX SMALL STAMPS. ONE POWERFUL MESSAGE. THEIR SACRIFICE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. 🌺🇬🇧 Royal Mail has unveiled six stunning new stamps, and behind every design is a story of courage, sacrifice and remembrance. These aren't just stamps. They're miniature tributes to the men and women who served our country, fought for our freedom and, in so many cases, never returned home. 🇬🇧 From the trenches of the First World War to the battlefields of the Second, and the generations who have served in conflicts since, this collection carries a message that must never fade. 🌺 What makes these stamps even more special? The artwork was created by Matthew Cook, a military veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Someone who understands the meaning of service, sacrifice and remembrance firsthand. 📮 The six First Class stamps will be released on 11 November 2026, Armistice Day. A beautiful and fitting tribute from Royal Mail, ensuring that the stories of those who served continue to be remembered and passed on to future generations. ❤️ Because remembrance isn't just about looking back. It's about making sure we never forget. 🇬🇧 WE WILL REMEMBER THEM. 🇬🇧 🌺 LEST WE FORGET. 🌺 – at Streetly, England

Did you know that Folic Acid was mandated to be added to Flour without a parliamentary vote using secondary legislation? Not one MP raised the point at the time in order to introduce a 'prayer motion' to try and halt it? Since then only Rupert Lowe has come out and backed a petition by Dr Clare Craig which is another method to halt the process.

It is sheer lunacy that there are debates over the Poppy. In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row,     That mark our place; and in the sky     The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,     Loved and were loved, and now we lie,         In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw     The torch; be yours to hold it high.     If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow         In Flanders fields.

King Charles is on his way to the Caribbean. During his tour there must be NO MENTION of reparations for slavery. Slavery happened hundreds of years ago and NO ONE living in Britain now has anything to do with it. Britain was the country leading the fight for the abolition of slavery. The Royal Navy spent years chasing down slave ships and lost hundreds of lives in the operation. Between 1800 and 1860, the Royal Navy seized 1,600 slave ships and freed 150,000 slaves, losing more than 1,500 sailors in the process. Britain has NOTHING to apologise for, indeed we should be immensely proud of what we did, and WE should be the ones getting thanks for what we did.
