Future Final Four hosts will be selected in 2027. I predict they'll drop Indianapolis and Houston, choosing Denver, Kansas City, Vegas, Nashville, and New Orleans as hosts. New Orleans seems most likely to miss if they give it to Houston, instead.

Credit to Virginia, Miami, and Alabama for their out of conference schedules and the rosters they've assembled. They're tying Duke, Kansas, and Kentucky for most featured in early season ESPN spotlight games.

Exhibition went as expected. Duke is a national championship level team. Lengthy, athletic, and talented. Doesn't get better than that. Stokes is pretty much impossible to stay in front of. He will live at the free throw line all year. Jayhawks could really use TKR.
Preseason pick: Florida for Overall 1, but Duke to win the national championship. Blue Devils visit Kansas on ESPN today.

If exhibition games counted, Baylor would already be a near lock for the 76-team tournament with wins over top-ranked Florida and no. 3 Illinois.

Baylor has hung 63 points and hit 11-of-18 triples on Illinois in the first half. Bears lead 63-44. Win over No. 1 Florida already this preseason. Now a near 20-point lead over No. 3 Illinois. #noticing

Oklahoma State - Tulsa is the only football game on ESPNU this season to outdraw Louisville at Kansas exhibition basketball. These extra exhibition games are great programming for ESPN.
Clearly some interest in these exhibition college basketball games: Louisville vs. Kansas averaged 287,000 viewers on ESPNU Wednesday night.

One GM: “It’s mercenary off-brand G League basketball.” Curious what that person thought they were viewing the last few years. College basketball hasn't been "college" basketball as of late.
Trey Kaufman-Renn gives Kansas a better chance to bounce back in March. But is this injunction-driven roster build really how Bill Self should want his final chapter to look? One GM: “It’s mercenary off-brand G League basketball.” si.com/college-basketball/bi…

Before this year's college basketball season starts, a quick reminder that the national champion in April is always awesome in November. The season can turn into a grind, but national championship teams always showcase themselves in November when they're fresh and motivated.
Anyone else get the feeling we are going to see a very similar image in April?

It makes no sense to keep paying revenue share for a program when the only reason you haven't fired the coach is the buyout cost. If the buyout is too much, then you shouldn't be digging an even deeper hole to climb out of. Either save $ to start fresh or find the buyout cash.

The exposure schools like Minnesota, Houston, and Mississippi State get playing in the CFP will be worth A TON.
Playoff expansion will earn about $100 million annually more per year when including the loss of championship games. Spread across schools, that's barely anything. As I've said, the move wasn't about money. It was just putting more teams in the mix.

There are about 20 college basketball teams whose fans think this might be their year. About 15 of those think that's dependent on keeping their guys eligible.

People are acting like the expanded playoff is killing college football. Conference realignment is why we are here. Regional, small conferences is what we are really missing.

James Madison is paying the American $23 million to join. If you're schools like USF, UConn, or Tulane that are looking to join the ACC or Big 12, bringing a 9-figure deal with you may be a prerequisite.
James Madison is leaving the Sun Belt for the American Conference by July 1, 2028. The move carries a reported $23M entry fee, plus an expected $5M Sun Belt exit fee. JMU will also gain access to the American’s TV, postseason and NCAA revenue shares. MORE: ow.ly/lRXu50ZWUYu
