This map shows when a majority of each country’s population will have been born in the 21st century. That is, after the year 2000. In some countries, particularly in parts of Africa, this is already the case due to high birth rates and young populations.
In others, especially across Europe and East Asia, it will take decades longer as populations age and birth rates remain low. Monaco will be the only country where a majority won’t be born after 2000 until 2050.
