Sometimes you just feel when your interpretation clicks:
Client: detmo najamo yangbois bin ranawei en ai bin jandap la pilis
Literal translation: those other young-boys ran away and I stood up to the police
My interpretation: the other boys ran off and I faced the police
I just learned that Spanish has no word for whiskers. Cats have “bigotes” (moustaches) just like humans 😍
"Given other opportunities in life, Vickie would have been the one running the case in the High Court, rather than the plaintiff" - Phil Lynch in Judgment (ABCTV) speaking about Vickie Roach's High Court case that overturned parliament's blanket ban of prisoner's voting rights.
It makes me sad that The Boy Is Mine by Brandy and Monica would never get made today because a pop song running 4:55 is inconceivable in contemporary pop
En mass”?!
Geez ABC twice in a day! Yes i’m turning into one of those ppl… 👴🏻 @abcnews
But will Roland Garros still allow cameras in their religious areas, @abcsport ? 🤔
Surprise surprise. Another failed NT mine, polluted waterways and inadequate regulation

Very sad news. Moli det bigibigi (Molly the pig) passed away in the recent Katherine floods. It was a beloved pet in the Kalano community for years, with two amazing Kriol books written about it. Community members are very sad.
Australian Reading Hour is coming up on Thursday 19 September. With one of our books, Moli det Bigibigi by Karen Manbulloo, featured as a Special Edition Kids Read, take the pledge today! #readinghour #takethetime bit.ly/2XGca7S
It’s not helpful to talk about the “Australian pair” in a doubles match when all four are Australian @cdesilva23 @abcsport 🙈
Kubler is also a former AO dubs champ but he sounds like an underdog in your writing.
Watching World Championship Athletics and listening to @brucemcavaney7 and @tamsynlewis talk about the "Botswanian".
If you wanna be accurate, he's a "Motswana"

I miss when we shared ideas and knowledge on here and had lively debate.
Is it still a thing on X or is it all in the past?
A reversal of fortune in the polls with Dutton’s approval down and Albo’s up. But why?
I assume it’s blowback from Australians seeing how unhinged Trump is and wanting to avoid the same here?
This is absolutely grotesque from the NT Government - a law giving all power to one man to override existing regulations so that big business can exploit the NT for profit.
Obscene. Here’s how last night’s community forum went down: greenleft.org.au/content/com…
My L2 English speaking partner was feeling good, distinguishing “sofa” and “so far” (a long way away) with no issues ❤️
Little did he know, the other “so far”, meaning ‘until this point in time’, was just about to burst his bubble.
Poor English learners 😔 he was v confused 😩

Oh wow.
Former NT Labor Deputy Chief Minister Nicole Mansion who bent over backwards to promote Texan fracking company Tamboran walks straight into a plumb job as VP.
They’re just sickening.
NT Government preparing to go HAM on environmental destruction.
Is this 1950? Do they know nothing about the contemporary reality of our planet?

Just me in Shanghai calling lines for the best players in the world 😂🤷♂️
An awesome and nostalgic because us line umpires are all replaced after this year
#tennis #shanghai #atptour #shanghaimasters @RolexSHMasters
Governments are steamrolling us and going ahead with fracking despite strong, persistent concerns. When will @MadeleineMHKing and @tanya_plibersek start to prioritise what Australians want and keep fossil fuels in the ground and stop gifting our resources for little benefit.
I have so much respect for @Malarndirri19 and hope she can protect the NT from fracking. It’s so deeply unwanted and intrinsically dangerous for the NT’s land and water. @tanya_plibersek use the water trigger now so that frackers can’t just do as they please. Don’t Frack the NT!
