I’m excited to officially join the Loyola High School Boys Basketball coaching staff under Head Coach Cam Joyce.
Grateful for the opportunity to step into the Mission League and become part of the Loyola community. I’m looking forward to helping Coach Joyce build the program, developing our players, and contributing however I can this season.
Let’s get to work. Go Cubs!

I’ve been a part of many journeys. Changed numerous of families lives. Utilizing all my resources including my time, sacrifice, and energy to help people get to where they wanted to go. Fueled simply by the phone calls or Messages “Coach I just want to say thank you for everything.”

HS varsity coaches in your city know which clubs/trainers be developing and who just running game on parents..
Because they see the product.
I don’t care what your record is. If you’re playing a Craig list type schedule, you are short handing your players that have an actual shot at the next level. No college coach wants to see you win against the Harmon Institute of Technology bud.
Taking players who are already developed and plastering them on your socials as if you were the one who developed them, is nothing but a ticking time bomb for you. There’s a deadline that eventually shows up for all your players, and results better show up when the time comes.
The moment you run from something because it “isn’t fun anymore,” you limit your own potential. Success isn’t built on constant excitement, it’s built on consistency. Every worthwhile goal comes with seasons that are difficult, uncomfortable, and far from enjoyable.
Prayers to my Clark family. 1 year has passed since we lost one of the most realist guys I ever had the privilege to call my best friend. Became my brother. I hope heaven is treating you right. Miss you more than you know. 🕊️Kenny Clark🙏🏽
You have to be willing to do the things that are not fun to achieve the things you want. You might have to take 2 steps back to take 10 steps forward.

Coaching is a thankless job, with little appreciation given. Long hours, constant criticism, you win it is all the kids, you lose it is all your fault. Thank you to the coaches out there rocking it. We do not hear that enough. Bless you all.

I believe most parents are no longer upset their kid isn’t getting recruited…
They’re upset the truth doesn’t match what they’ve been told and sold for the 10 previous years and they are just realizing it.

I am not getting into the debate of right or wrong on coaches part.
It’s a hard cold realty
Parents, please don’t be “That Parent” that costs your kid a college opportunity
Please allow your kids the experience & growth that comes from learning to solve their own problems.
I’m not saying to not “guide and advise”. I’m saying allow them the privilege & opporunity to grow.

As an AD, I remind our coaches their job is to develop athletes but also play the best players to win. There will always be parents upset about playing time, and there will always be parents upset about losing. So you might as well coach to win while continuing to develop your athletes the right way.

Gilbert Junior Camacho is a steal for any coach who’s looking for a guard who can facilitate, score when need be, and rebound on both sides of the ball. His accolades speak for themselves.
