#BWFC's Charlie Warren scores for #ASFC. Brilliant, almost poetic, commentary supplied by enraged #RFC supporters. I think they might be upset about conceding a goal. Anyone who fears football is becoming a sport for the middle-class prawn sandwich brigade can rest assured!
“Slide over thereeeee you bellendddd!” 😂😂 Up them piss boiling, tika taka, goal scoring, milk men! #asfc

Lula's win in Brazil is great news. No surprise that Bolsonaro, in true Donald Trump style, refuses to concede. Also welcome that Vucic is out in Serbia, altho' I'm dubious abt what'll replace him. Have we seen the high water mark for anti-democratic authoritarians? #r4today

Donald Trump is forced to give evidence in his case against the #BBC. He cancelled the last hearing bcz of "matters of national security" (a campaign rally) This is the first time he'll be asked on oath about Jan 6th. Which is why he's tried to avoid it. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cmy0…

This is stomach-churning. Yes, I know that envoys have to use diplomatic language, but this is utterly appalling from Steve Witkoff. Was Vladimir Putin "a humanitarian" when he targeted and massacred civilians in Bucha, Kyiv, Mariupol? And Donald Trump now sides with him.
Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff to Vladimir Putin today: “You talk so much about Trump being a humanitarian, you are a humanitarian also, sir. And I salute that. I commend you.”

Chris Bryant refuses to speak abt welfare reform on #r4today. Yes, he's NI Sec, but he's also a Cabinet minister and should be across important govt policy areas. Not a great look for Labour. It suggests - accurately - they haven't got a worked out and affordable welfare plan

Shocking stuff in #ITV #Exposure. We all knew #ReformUK was full of vile racism and sexism. This film shows just how pervasive it is, whilst the vetting is a complete failure. One Reform member talking about immigrants: "I'd start shooting and killing" Appalling.

Least surprising story of the week: Katie Zacharia is out after only 5 days. First, she claimed to be an attorney (she wasn't). Then she said the Daily Mail wasn't a Conservative outlet (!!) She didn't even last half a Scaramucci, or 1/10 of a Liz Truss! bbc.co.uk/news/live/ck0j3z1q…

Combative #PMQs from Andy Burnham. He mocks the Tories' ill-thought-out Iron Dome policy: When Kemi Badenoch was interviewed about it she couldn't explain how it'd work. "You've got to speak to a defence expert," she told an @LBC journo. Killer line from AB, KB doesn't answer

Kemi Badenoch sets out a list of cheap, and sometimes inaccurate, insults aimed at Andy Burnham. For the record AB said that Russia interfered in Brexit, NOT that they influenced the result. There's a distinction. At #PMQs KB embodies the image of the Tories as the Nasty Party

Tom Tugendhat tries to score political points by attempting to force a wedge between MI5's Sir Ken McCallum and Andy Burnham over Russian interference in the #Brexit referendum. V disappointing from Tom, whom I rate as a thoughtful and intelligent man, not a Tory hack. #C4News

Luke Pollard: "Russia tried to hack the Brexit referendum, but we know that they weren't successful." Do we? The Russia Report said the security services didn't find successful hacking evidence, *bcz they weren't asked to look for it* So we don't know. We need an inquiry #r4today

Nigel Farage claims the PM is "a liar" for saying Russia interfered in #Brexit. Rich coming from a man who has variously said a £5m donation was "for security" "a reward for Brexit " and "to spend on Ferraris". He also claims he didn't really know Russian agent Nathan Gill. @WATO

Stephen Doughty is reluctant to confirm his own Prime Minister Andy Burnham's statement that Russia interfered in the #Brexit vote, as has long been obvious. What's holding him back? We need a full inquiry now and as many of the conclusions as possible must be published. #r4today

Labour MP Rachel Maskell appears not to accept Alan Milburn's idea that NEETs should both get help into work and expect sanctions if they refuse it. Remember she was part of the cabal that forced out Keir Starmer after he tried to reform welfare. Trouble ahead. #PoliticsLive

Kemi Badenoch is warmly received at the Tory conference. But she can't escape the Tories' record of 14 years in power bcz it's also her record. She supported Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak, held two Cabinet jobs, and backed Brexit. She pretends none of it was anything to do with her

What a goal from the brilliant Harry Kane ! Just makes me sad that this group of players couldn't have done slightly better in the World Cup. Was that our best chance to win it in recent years ? #EngCze

Kemi Badenoch: "This is a different Tory party. It's better, it's changed" But is it? Has it ? KB, Victoria Atkins, Claire Coutinho and Laura Trott all had Cabinet jobs in previous Tory govt, while Helen Whately and Tom Tugendhat were both ministers. Mb not so different. #C4News

Painful interview with James Cleverly on @WATO He can't explain why he's changed his position on net zero, Heathrow's 3rd runway, and especially Brexit. Past Tory policies are an albatross around his neck. He constantly tries to avoid the difficult qns. Pathetic.

Interesting from Michael Crick - a man who knew Jeffrey Archer's many sides better than most. His biography of JA, Stranger Than Fiction, is a must-read. It exposes the depth of Archer's lies, the criminality of his father and the poor judgement of several Tory leaders. #r4today
As well as being a politician and highly successful novelist, don't forget Jeffrey Archer was a pretty nasty fraudster - like his father. In short, he was a crook. Many broadcasters - some who never dared ask him any tough questions - will gloss over that today.
