The taxpayers of Washington State have an opportunity to save themselves and their wonderful state…the initiative process.
The democrat state legislature keeps voting in higher taxes and even taxes (income tax) prohibited by the state constitution. Sadly they have a very democrat/left wing “Supreme Court” that cheerfully ignores those naughty bits of the constitution that protect civil liberties and citizens from such taxation.
Yes. Many are leaving Washington. But some are staying to fight.

The new left wants to make sure no one works for themselves, everyone has to have a boss. And union bosses have first crack at you. Americans should be able to be their own bosses.

As of July 1, the European Union has capped duty-free steel imports at about 18.3 million tonnes (20.2 US tons) a year, 47% below 2024 quota levels. Regulation (EU) 2026/1384 also doubles the duty on imports that exceed those limits, from 25% to 50%.

Good news for the United Airlines CEO who volunteered to pay a wealth tax. Under existing law he's allowed to lead by example and can cut a check for 5% of his net wealth to the IRS's "tax me more" fund.

The challenge for Europe is that too many of the nations are committing suicide. Deliberately taxing, regulating and spending (other people's money) as costs increase, work decreases and there is limited interest or money left available for the few (very few) legitimate functions of a government: defense and punishing crime (real crime, not texts and tweets)
Europe lacks federalism. (And guns, but that is for another day)
In the United States, yes California, New York and Rhode island are behaving like Europe on a bad day. But they have to compete with grown up states that have eliminated their state income taxes, limited the power of unions to abuse workers, given parents the right to control their kids educaton.
We have no Berlin Wall and people leave "socialist" states and move to more limited government states.
Heck, East Germany picked up on this after a while. California will also. Maybe not Massachusetts.
