They gave up the futures they deserved so that our generations might have one.
They never got to grow old. They never got to watch their children grow up, hold their grandchildren, or experience the lives weβve lived.
They never got to enjoy so many of the ordinary, and so very beautiful things, that we barely give a second thought these days.
The simple privilege of growing old and building a family in a country you love.
These are the joys they were denied, all so that we could live with freedom and prosperity.
When we say that they gave their lives, we must remember what that really means.
They gave everything they were, everything they loved, and everything they might one day have become.
They gave us the chance to live the lives they never could.
The very least we can do is make those lives worthy of their sacrifice.
Sometimes (regional dialects) can cause considerable embarrassment, most famously with the British expression. 'I'll knock you up in the morning', which means, to an American 'I'll make you pregnant in the morning.' - Mother Tongue by Bill Bryson

Theme Hospital by Bullfrog (1997).
Like so many of Bullfrogβs games, Theme Hospital was brilliant and full of (dark) humor. They were never afraid to create original games and try out new concepts.

You have the right to vote, so use it. It also gives you the right to complain which is an added bonus.

I almost want to admire the audacity of a party campaigning on ending Apartheid to provide a "better life for all" spending the next 30 years after coming into power explaining that they can't provide a "better life for all" because of Apartheid.

Patrick was one of those icons who we somehow all took for granted would always be with us.
I grew up as a fan, and was later gifted the privilege of becoming a colleague and friend, working with him for many years on βAmerican Dad!β, βFamily Guyβ, and βTedβ. He was that rare actor who could take any bit of dialogue and elevate it, making a good writer sound great, and a great writer sound masterful. He was also as humble as they come. I remember exchanging emails with him a number of years ago when he was beginning day 1 of a new film. He commented to me that he always walked onto a new set feeling like the biggest novice there. My stunned reaction was the same as anyoneβs would be. I said, βPatrick, if you feel that way, the rest of us are screwed.β We have lost a legendary actor today, and for many of us, a good friend. He will be deeply missed by the entire planet.

As a 40 year old former gamer, watching my kid on Roblox baffles me. How is it a success? Gameplay on everything looks boring as shit, horrendous music and horrible repetitive sound effects. And they're addicted to the shit. Fuck Roblox.

The fact that there is a "debate" about stopping benefits for foreign nationals shows how insane British politics has become.
We should never have provided a penny in benefits to anyone who is not a British citizen in the first place! I say that as someone who lived in Britain for many years as a foreign national.

Most people are economically illiterate, and itβs destroying Britain.
We think weβre a top-tier rich nation, but on a per capita basis, weβre not even in the top 20.
Instead of arguing and further dividing the country over how to slice a shrinking pie, we need to focus on what actually creates wealth and productivity because taxing wealth won't fix a nation that has stopped producing it.
