Tools for Humanity CPO @tiagosada explains why asking for your ID and a selfie no longer proves you're human in the age of AI: "That’s not a way to prove your identity. That’s a way to give your bot access to your emails. It certainly does not prove that the bot belongs to a human." "KYC has two problems. First, it’s not private at all. You have to trust that company to store your ID on some servers, and at some point one of them screws up and all of your data ends up on the internet." "Second, it just doesn’t work. It’s pretty easy to create a fake ID and do a deepfake when you’re doing the selfie step. You can pretend to be someone that doesn’t exist, or worse, someone that does exist. KYC is not the answer." @world_id

Live from Zoomtopia: “Our partners offer additional layers of security that can work in the background of your meetings, like @world_id for Zoom, which uses hardware-backed biometric checks to give Zoom participants a verified human badge.” — Russell Dicker, CPO at @Zoom

In 2024, an employee at engineering firm Arup transferred $25.6 million after joining a video call where every other participant was a deepfake. Since then, AI has advanced significantly and is making impersonation increasingly convincing, causing challenges for financial institutions in particular. As autonomous agents begin handling more financial activity on behalf of people, establishing an added layer of trust and security behind a transaction or sensitive conversation is becoming an urgent need. Introducing @world_id for banking and finance, a suite of technologies that helps institutions establish trust through privacy-preserving cryptographic Proofs. World ID for Zoom lets meeting participants confirm they are the same Orb-verified human connected to their account, while World ID for agents allows AI agents to carry Proofs delegated by people. Bain Capital, OpenExchange, Outtake, Pantera Capital, and VanEck Funds are initial design partners, bringing World ID into some of finance's most consequential interactions. fortune.com/2026/10/18/zoom-…

Computers can now speak English. For 6 months, we've obsessed with building an amazing product around this. Introducing Mila, @Capchase's 24/7 AI deal desk. From quote to financed deal in minutes. No portals, no forms, no waiting. Vendor financing was broken. Now it's fixed.

Both @Muse and @instinct got blocked when asked to search on @amazon with their unauthorized AI agent notice but @hark_labs didn't! Great work @adcock_brett and team 🙌

Sharing some feedback @hark_labs @adcock_brett captchas are blocking creating accounts, hark can't resolve, also would be great to expose the secure vaults from the app externally, e.g. want to login myself by using regular browser with the creds from app's vault.

Bots are getting blocked. So are shopping agents. This is bad for consumers and retailers. Stores can't tell them apart, verified agents powered by World ID can.

i agree! have been personally focusing on this the last few months, dm if you have an ai agent and want to collab on this will have cool stuff to share soon :)
The most important technology problem of the next 5 years: Creating a broadly accepted standard for agents to identify themselves to service providers, so that providers can adjust the way they interface with clients (as compared to human-based traffic). In the interim (i.e., for the next 6 months), there will be a cat-and-mouse game that agents will play -- to circumvent detection and maintain their product's utility during this growth phase. However, this will only be a stopgap and it will not be the terminal state of the world.

Introducing Griffin, the first model to pass the video Turing test. 48% of people who talked to it live thought it was a real human. Previous systems have had a pass rate <3%. It is #1 on NVIDIA's benchmark for full-duplex AI video. It’s the first Human Interaction Model (HIM).
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The 48% figure and "video Turing test" claim are from Tavus's own study of 54 one-minute calls, not independently verified or using a standard protocol. Griffin-Lite leads NVIDIA's VideoFDB benchmark on their public leaderboard. cellcog.ai/blog/tavus-gri… research.nvidia.com/labs/amri/proj… tech-ish.com/2026/10/02/tav…

Over the last 6 years @worldnetwork has been building tools that allow you to prove that who you're interacting with online is a human or an agent acting on their behalf. I've never felt a more pressing need for the products and integrations built e.g. world.org/blog/announcements….
Replying to @buccocapital
